05 Aug Bright Colored Tunic for Summer by Caite

Happy Monday friends!

I thought I would feature some colorful and beautifully embroidered prints this week. This tunic, by Caite, has such summery bright colors, orange, magenta and that I wanted to feature it with white to let the tunic take center stage.

I loved this, on their website, the essence of CAITE clothing—”a free spirit, lover of art, travel and adventure, and a showstopper when entering a room.”

The sunshine colors caught my eye as did the pattern on this beautiful poly silk tunic. The embroidery in a blue/grey also adds to the intricacy of the piece. I love the silky feel against my skin and the lightness of the style.  From the website: “Our clothing is handcrafted in India under fair and ethical working conditions, and we take great pride in the talent of these artisans to create one-of-a-kind prints, exquisite embroideries, and stunning pieces. Nothing complicated about styling this piece though! I initially was thinking denim shorts and gladiator type sandals, because of the flowy material and boho vibe. However, the length is longer and you wouldn’t be able to see the shorts, so it was white jeans for the win!

The bright colors stand out against the white and I chose a skinny jean from Loft, as to balance the shape and volume of the top. When styling, think of this if you have a billowy, flowy blouse you want to keep the bottoms more form-fitting. Denim or white Bermuda shorts would work as it would come down to the knee.

I added soft pink espadrilles for more color and a tasseled bag from Rebecca Minkoff. Don’t you think of tassels with a boho style? The orange drop earrings would bring out the bright color as well.

They have plaid tops with embroidery,  embroidered solid tops. velvet tops, dresses and new items for Fall. I’ll be sharing another look tomorrow!

The Weekend

How was your weekend? I was looking forward to the Full Moon festival, at one of our favorite local vineyards, (although we saw no werewolves,) rather a bunch of doggies that attended with their owners. We brought our Canope, as it made its debut and kept us cooler with our chairs in the shade. It was supposed to rain, but Mother Nature looked kindly upon us, as she refrained any downpour that day. It was funny, as we were the second couple to arrange our canope, in an area in which I dubbed Canope Row by the end of the evening, with about 10 canopies lined up all in a row.

There were vendors at Raylen Vineyards, such as the  Cousins Main Lobster food truck, which I was excited to see, as I love to eat a healthier fare, and food trucks aren’t usually healthy. Hubby had a lobster roll and I had shrimp tacos with tots. Yum!

The doggies were spoiled as well, as I bought homemade peanut butter treats from K-9 treats. What I absolutely loved was the kindness and generosity of an older man in the next canope down. He and his wife had fostered 40 dogs over the years, not having one at the festival. Rather, he loves dogs so much, he bought several bags of treats from the K-9 tent just to treat the various dogs that were roaming the event. He brought Gibby and Truffy several bacon treats and I just thought that was the sweetest act of generosity!

Hair and Humidity

Well, it has been pretty humid here lately. You will see the difference tomorrow when I used hot rollers. I have been looking on Youtube though for some new products I may want to try. Has anyone tried Bumble and Bumble products? I think I may give one or two a go, as the price point is similar to Kerestase.
