Cargo Pants Are Still In, In 2022 + Caite and Kyla Helena Blouse

You know the movie, and the phrase,
“Frankly my dear, I don’t give a damn.”

Gone With the Wind, was on the right track (at least from a fashion perspective ๐Ÿ˜‰

The Outfit

That is how I feel if I read about something being “in” or ‘out”. I do follow and add trends here and there to my wardrobe, but I want staples and pieces that I am comfortable in and stylish. So, when I read, according to the Zoe Report, that “Cargo pants are 2022’s most Ubiquitous Trend. “, I thought, well, am I glad I didn’t toss those! LOL

The reality is, I wear what I like, whether it is in or not, as I am sure many women can relate to. If you have basics, and classic pieces that stand the test of time, you enjoy picking from your closet, and pulling out those pieces that are “you”, whether in or not.

Today I am styling these cargo pants (which I bought years ago in 3 different colors) with a relaxed fitting silky floral embroidered top from Caite and Kyla. I was gifted this blouse and chose it as the lilac/mauve color was one I wanted to add to my closet. As you saw in this blog post, the tonal embroidery is more subtle but beautiful. The sleeves can be tuned up 3/4 length. The Spring blouses are very light and silky feeling, as well as being generous in cut for a flowy casual look

Do you care if something is “in” or “out” ? Or do you wear them regardless? Let me know in the comments.

c/o I was gifted this blouse by Caite and Kyla. All opinions are mine and truthful.

I still have my cargo pants and really trends do seem to go in and out that it sometimes makes my head spin… I can’t keep up! Lol! Like those claw clips for your hair are back in style now and my daughter loves them. That embroidered top is a beauty, the color is so perfect for the Spring!

What a great blouse, Jess! iI love the color and the pretty embroidery. It works so well with those cargo pants, too. The colors are perfect together! I also love your opening quote! I just started reading Gone With the Wind for about the 5th or 6th time! It is one of my all time favorite books!

Super cute outfit, Jess! Yay for hanging on to the cargo pants. Very pretty blouse. Ha! I tend to pay little attention to trends. I know what looks best on me and trends are often at odds with that.

I’m glad you kept them too because they are fabulous Jess. There’s just no reason to throw out things you love because they are “out” of style.

I also adore cargo pants, especially cropped-length ones. They’re just as comfortable as sweats and infinitely more stylish plus they’re a great alternative for shorts in warmer weather. Your pairing on them with the embroidered top is a great look, Jess.

I have a pair very similar to yours. Love them! I’m never sure if I should be wearing pants that cut mid-calf as I’m 5’2″ and wonder if that would make me appear shorter. Thoughts? ๐Ÿ™‚

      Hi Valdene!
I would either wear a wedge or heel ( casual) if they meet you at mid-calf. This will elongate the leg . Otherwise, I would go for cargo pants that are to the ankle . I hope that helps!

You wear them well Jess. I don’t have anything like this as I’m not a fan of pockets on the side – they make my big bottom even bigger! Jacqui x

Thank you Jacqui! These are ones that don’t have big pockets on the side. I know what you are referring to. Enjoy your day!

You make cargo pants so chic! Glad you kept this pair and yes to wearing that represent โ€œyou.โ€ Sometimes I really do wonder when I read blogs or see a styled outfit from someone if itโ€™s something they actually wear in real life. Then again I live in a small city and thereโ€™s nothing fancy here so perhaps I am visiting the wrong websites?! Lol Anyway, I love how you styled this outfit. The neck scarf definitely adds a fun feminine flair to the look!

Thank you Maureen. I do have 3 pairs in different colors, same cut. I know what you mean! I have a more dressy approach and do dress like that when we go out. At home, it is more relaxed, something like this.

I love cargo pants! They are more versatile than people realize- I consider them a neutral. Love how you paired yours with this beautiful spring color. Xx

Right! You don’t have to always dress them down. They are versatile and I do dress them up from time to time. Thank you!

Thank you! They are so comfy and I think they are stylish if dressed up with a different shoe.
