Christmas Outfit Inspiration+ A Holiday Cocktail Recipe

If you are like me, you enjoy dressing up for Christmas. I am sharing Christmas outfit ideas of the past and will have others to share with you next week. It is hard to believe it is nearly one week away!

This year has rushed by faster than I thought it would. I always look forward to the festivities with Christmas shows, wrapping gifts, seeing family and listening to Christmas music. We hope to the Luminature Show at the Philadelphia Zoo, and we also enjoyed Longwood Gardens and the lighted trees and foliage there, years ago. If you are near Philidelphia, you may want to check out these two events and places.

Well, we head out on Dec 23rd to Philly, so there will be a bit more content before Christmas.

Christmas Outfit Inspiration

brocade dress and button down shirt

Not crazy about your arms but have several strapless dresses you are longing to wear? Wearing a jeweled white button down underneath a strapless dress. A shrug would also look lovely here with the brocade and keep you covered.

mustard gold sweater and skirt with gold boots

I love gold for the Christmas season. Swap out the snakeskin gold booties and add a pair of black or gold strappy sandals. Swap out the LV for a jeweled or sequin clutch.

grey velvet maxi dress with strappy black sandals

This grey velvet maxi dress would look great on my cool toned ladies. Have white or silver hair, this would be lovely!

red floral midi dress with velvet boots

The red velvet booties add a touch of Holiday to the look . I can’t resist red outfits for Christmas and I love a dark floral pattern.

I have worn this green velvet ZARA dress on the blog several times before (See post here) and its always a favorite. I love to add a patterned black tight as well. Yes, I dress my pups up in their Santa Suits each year!

gold velvet blazer with cream white lace skirt

You may have seen this Ann Taylor lace skirt before. It is among my favorites with its gold threading and delicate vintage-looking lace. I paired it here with a mustard gold DKNY blazer I bought secondhand.

Long red maxi dress and black heels

Red is just so striking isn’t it? It is one of my favorites for the Season, and this dress, that nips in at the waist and defines it, is elegant for the occassion

gold satin dress with jacquard purse

Nothing like a rich gold for the Holidays. I added a bit more interest to this satiny dress with my brocade bag bought years ago on Zara.

Red sweater dress with black booties

A red sweater dress from Target ( last year) is cozy and festive as I carry my floral circle bag ( with green and red flowers)

My green cashmere sweater and tweed skirt are jazzed up with a layered gold and green necklace.

Pj’s Anyone?

Or maybe you will be in pajamas for Christmas? I do a bit of both. I will dress up for Church (although it is virtual still) and later in the day get into my Pjs. These are my doggy pajamas from PJ Salvage. This pair is not available, but here is a darling pair that is similarLove this set too! Great if you are a dog lover! I will be sharing a family picture that I planned when after Christmas. Just a hint** Buffalo Plaid!

And in case you missed my picture at my moms, here is some of her inflatable decor:-) I usually post extra photos on Instagram Stories. If you don’t follow me on IG, you can do so HERE.

I hope I gave you some outfit inspiration, and that you are looking forward to getting snazzy for the Christmas Holiday. And last but not least, a recipe I found on Delish.com ** I have a tradition of making a new cocktail for the Holidays and thought this sounded tasty and festive. If you are a city gal, why not try the Santa Clausmopolitan? oh, heck. Anyone can enjoy this!

I never wear strapless anything because I hate that space right under my arms – you know the one. Love the idea of wearing it over another top as you have done! Never considered doing that with something strapless, tank top/spaghetti strap is the only thing that has come to mind. Thanks for that! Also love your dog PJs – too cute!

That shirt under the strapless dress?? Brilliant, and it looks like they were made to go together.

Thanks Jodie! The top has black jewels at the collar, so I thought it would work well.

Thank you Gwen! I got the PJs a few years ago, as it was called “Best in Show” with the dogs on it. That was my Dad’s favorite movie too! Glad you enjoyed the post. Happy Holidays to you! xo
