A Classic Combo

Hello Ladies

Happy Wednesday.

I wanted to create a classic look and love camel and black as a combination.

There are alot of combinations we consider “classic”. Black and white, camel and black, often red and black. Here I  decided to take a flirty mid length crepe skirt and pair it with over the knee boots and camel.

I want to get a fair amount of wear for what remains of the season with the over the knee boots and I love the look with a shorter skirt. This skirt, however, when I got it, hit me at a strange place, just a few inches above the ankle. I wasn’t crazy about where it hit me on the body, and felt it wasn’t quite me. So, what do I do? I take it to my lovely tailor, who miraculously turns it into this shorter flirty skirt with the hem just a bit above the knee.

I think we all need to take inventory of our clothes in our closet from time to time and say, “why am I not wearing that?” If it is something to do with length, needing taken in, a button or two changed, then I say, “take it to the tailor.’ The woman I know is wonderful, inexpensive, and has altered many clothes for me. If you can find a great tailor too, I would suggest salvaging clothes or keeping ones you love that might need a little extra care.

This is one of my favorite sweaters in a cashmere blend, so nice and soft. I wanted to add a little panache to the outfit, and hope I did so with the leopard scarf and rust colored brooch.

Hope you all have a wonderful week,

Jess xo

    Jess,
I love what your tailor did with your skirt, the length is perfect now! I love that scarf and classic camel, but I adore the gloves!! They look like they are the color Marsala, Pantone;s color of the year. Or maybe that is my fever!
    anyway, you look stunning!

You can never go wrong with black and camel right? You look great here, I love those boots, they are so cool, I love how they are slouchy and you can get away with that perfectly because of your long legs girl!! Your scarf and especially the earring are fab too 🙂
