23 Mar Dressing Up Denim: Straight Leg Style

Hello Ladies

I  hope you all had a lovely weekend. It went rather fast. Friday, the first day of spring was 50 degrees and it got a bit warmer as the weekend went on. I know you don’t see me in denim that often, but I wanted to show you ways to dress up denim.

Do you ever feel like you hear voices as you look at your closet? What to wear.. what to wear… “is it cold today?” ‘ rainy”? Should I still wear tights? Now that it is spring, shouldn’t I be wearing light colors” ” What to wear. .. what to wear.. ” Men have it easier, I am sorry. Not ALL men. I know, There are those fashion saavy guys that probably go through a similar dialogue each morning..( doubt it)  However, many of the guys I know, ask themselves the same question when deciding what to wear. ” Does this smell?”

Well, one thing most of us can count on is denim. Prior to having this illness, where I didn’t have as much leg sensitivity, I was wearing jeans, on a designer jean forum, sharing and talking about my love of jeans. I kid you not. I know it is hard to believe as I am really more of a skirt and dress girl, but really like to wear worn in comfortable jeans. Most guys and ladies can find several pairs they like in their closet and put together an outfit. It can end of being almost a uniform of sorts, jean-t-shirt, flats, jeans-sweater-boots.

What can make them stand out is how one styles them. I do like flares, straight leg and boot-cut jeans.  I will be showing here and there different ways I might style jeans in an effort to show you that side of myself. I can’t promise I will wear them all day,but I will style them.

With the denim I have on today, these are a pair of William Rast ( Justin Timberlake’s brand)  straight leg jeans with a dark wash and a bit of distress to them. These and all of WR, have a pretty low rise, but I do tend to like that in the jeans I wear. Everyone has a personal preferance. I wanted the weather to cooperate this weekend and it was nicer, so I decided to show more of a spring look, with WR jeans, my new floral and blingy pointed toe flats I featured on Friday, and this rich green Banana Republic   top. Add a detailed nude colored leather jacket, and a textured bag, and viola! a way to dress up your denim.

I will be getting back into this discussion with other styles as time goes on, but this is one way to dress up your jeans.
