Faux Leather Weather

Good Morning friends

I hope you enjoyed your weekend!

We kept it pretty low key and went out for drinks Saturday, Sunday I had cleaning to do, so we just worked around the house. With the many fabrics, textures, and colors for Fall, I decided it was time-faux leather weather.

My Outfit

I “shopped my closet” and took out my Lafeyette149 tweed blazer to style, as I bought it about 4 years ago for a steal on Poshmark. If you aren’t familiar with the thrifting  site Poshmark, read about it here.

The colors woven into this tweed blazer goes with so much in my closet. I did decide it was time I wore one of my faux leather skirts . This ZARA red-brick/brown pencil skirt takes on a neutral look with the camel dolman sweater from H&M. The booties then draw your eyes in. Hubby gave them to me for Christmas a few years ago. I love the rust, navy, gold and burgundy in the eye-catching booties.

I kept it simple and added a few pieces of gold jewelry with my leaf necklace and dangling leaf earrings, picking up the gold in the boots.

I always felt like blazers or jackets elevate a look.

Its now chilly in Charlotte and I feel much better when I can slip into cold sheets at night. The pups got their haircuts and grooming, so they are extra snuggly! I have been thinking of looking at some cook books and making soups this Fall, as I can’t resist a hearty soup with thick and chewy bread with butter. I made butternut squash soup about 3 times last year. I’d like to make a vegetarian chilli and maybe a cream of mushroom. I did make hot apple cider with mulling spices over the weekend. Yum.

Have a great day!

join me tomorrow for TURNING HEADS TUESDAY!

I always love these fall colors on you, Jess! And the contrast of the tweed blazer with the edgier leather skirt is brilliant. Plus those amazing booties! And now I feel the urge to go make some soup or chili! I just made a beef vegetable soup earlier this week that was delicious, but now I have cream of mushroom on the brain! Thanks so much for joining my link party!

I’m so in love with your tweed jacket, Jess. If I find one I like on myself, I will snap it up!

Thank you Kim! This is one piece I have from LayFayette149 – as they are pricey, but since I found it on Poshmark, it was a great deal!

Hi Jess. It was so nice visiting your blog again and seeing your beautiful fall outfit. Wow those booties you got a few years ago are still quite cute and trendy. Making some soup for the cooler weather sounds great! I’d like to try making pumpkin soup in a multi-cooker, since so many kinds of pumpkins are so prevalent here in the Republic of Georgia. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Christina, thank you so much. I just love pieces that are timeless and then adding booties that are fun with some flair! Pumpkin soup sounds so good, I made a butternut squash soup several times last year. This is a great time of year for those comfort food meals. xx

Love this outfit . Everything looks so perfect on you. I was just thinking last night about searching Pinterest for some soup ideas. I love a good soup. The store bought kind have way too much salt in them. I like the way you think.

Aw, thank you Lisa, sweet of you to say. Pinterest sounds good for soup, I wil look there and Delish for recipies. So true about the salt! Ugh. I hardly put salt on anything at all ( except popcorn) and I prefer homemade soups anyday!
