06 Apr Flouncy Spring Dress – Target Style
Hi friends
I hope everyone is doing well and trying to keep their minds busy with other things besides Corona. It certainly is hard to. You want to be informed, but you don’t want anxiety and fear to creep in. I hope this outfit post brightens your day some in a sunshiny color. All dressed up and no place to go! ( unless you count the back deck!)
Music Etc.
You know the song, “Sunshine on My Shoulders” by John Denver? Well, sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy.. that is so true these days! I am now, on the good days, spending my afternoons on our deck enjoying the blooming crepe myrtle trees in pinks and purples. Just feeling the heat and the sun bear down feels even better on my muscles helps. You also need that Vit D!
Speaking of songs, anyone else dancing with their dogs? lol. I was listening to my music on the deck, and what came on? “Open Arms” by Journey! That was the first slow dance song in 7th grade! Well, I had to dance, and picked up my little boy Gibson, who then slow danced with me to the remainder of the song. He is a willing partner!
I’ve also been playing Motley Crue’s “Home Sweet Home” on my guitar. Thought it was apropos!
My Outfit
I am mentioned this as a preface to the outfits on the blog currently. I am mostly wearing athleisure at home, with slippers or sneakers, but I am sharing these looks for ideas and inspiration when we do get to go out again. I am not walking around the house in heels!
I am wearing an S ( 4) in this dress from A New Day line at Target. Of course, you know I love the mustard or gold color especially with neutral accessories I love the flouncy sleeves and hem-line. It comes in other colors and patterns.as well. I bought this online a month ago, as I always do most of my shopping. I want to support businesses at this time if possible but I am pretty sure there are people that just aren’t shopping much now. It isn’t a priority. Finding toilet paper is still difficult!
I had been looking for a pair of tan or cognac sandals to wear for the Spring and Summer and loved these strappy croc styled ones from Mango.

Posted at 14:38h, 07 AprilI Love this dress on YOU. It is the perfect dress and I did try it on earlier at the store, but since I only shop sales the wait was on. All that is on hold now that Corona has taken over our lives. Stay Safe my Dear. . .

Posted at 12:50h, 07 AprilGorgeous dress, Jess! I do so love this color on you. And dancing with the pups sounds like an amazing way to pass the time at home! Home Sweet Home was the only song I ever learned how to play on the keyboard way back when I thought maybe I could be musical. Turns out, I am not musical! But I do love music and dancing with any willing partner!

Posted at 20:51h, 06 AprilSunshine is exactly what we need…on us for the Vit. D and on our bodies, because it’s a happy color.
I just love those sandals. I bought some last summer but they aren’t my favorite. I may have to check if Mango still has these.

Posted at 09:54h, 07 AprilSo true. I have been enjoying sitting on our deck as it has been sunny the last 3 days. The sun makes a big difference on my mood. I think they are still in stock Jodie, I wanted a cognac tan pair to go with many of my neutral looks. xx

Posted at 11:00h, 06 AprilThis dress hits all of the right notes for you (see what I did there?). The color is great and the soft ruffles really flatter you. My boyfriend used to play John Denver music on his guitar and sing–so I know lots of his songs!

Posted at 11:12h, 06 AprilHi Kim! Well done on the pun! Thank you! I really love this dress and am thinking of it in another print. I really do need cute tops though, so we’ll see. Yes, John Denver and Neil Diamond were played by my Dad. I also remember in the 4th grade I started guitar lessons andhad a John Denver book. 🙂

Posted at 07:13h, 06 AprilI do love that John Denver song – and sunshine is so good for us. We are going to have a rainy week here but we kinda need it. Love this dress on you – hard to believe it’s Target! Looks much more expensive. The color is so god on you and of course the cut and style – FABULOUS!
