From the Runway to Your Closet: Spring Fashion Trends You Can Wear

Spring fashion trends are trickling down into the stores. What did the runway show and what can I actually wear?

Happy March friends!

Spring 2024 is approaching and are you itching to start to wear some of your Spring garments?

First, let me say, that I don’t always go by trends or what is “trending”. Some trends though, being colors or styles that may be more classic, strike me as something that can still stand the test of time. So, don’t necessarily think “trend” is something you can just wear one season. I am just giving you some examples of a few trends that are, what designers are calling this year’s buzz word “Wearable” To think, that would be a buzzword.:-)

Good thing this “art” form from the Comme Des Garçons’ Fall / Winter 2017 is not out to make a resurgence!

Here are some you can actually wear this Spring:

Icy or Baby Blue

A cool icy tone is on the runway and also in the stores this season. I LOVE this color, especially on ladies with white, grey or silver hair! It is a wonderful color for you. Everything from blazers, to dresses, and skirts will be offered. Wear this with a light grey, white, or try some color blocking with a pale pink or other color.

I wore this blazer from my closet in this Post.

Romantic Roses

Yes, we all know the saying for Spring. “Florals- Groundbreaking.” Well, this isn’t just any floral. Roses are making the grade this season with many romantic dresses and looks. So if you love a romantic style, you may just want to add a piece here or there. Instead of a scarf with your outfit, why not add this rose choker. ( I bought these)

Here is another option

Trench Coats/Some with stylish Details

Last year I found my perfect trench. I often thrift or buy on sale, but this one spoke to me, and I buckled down and paid full price, as sometimes my size is hard to keep in stock. Now, some of the trenches are showing modern details , like this cape-designed trench coat. If you are more of a minimalist dresser, or like the classic look, you may not be interested. If you wanted something “extra” some of the trench styles out for Spring will provide you with just that.

White Dresses

See, again, white dresses can be a staple in your Spring and Summer wardrobe. I consider this more of a classic style that may change just with the details or type of dress that season.

Graphic Stripes

I went a bit “stripe bonkers” this last year, from lady jackets, to sweaters and button downs. But I also have bought a few dresses witch multidirectional stripes. ( the bodice in one direction, the stripes of the skirt bottom another). I do like unique striped looks.

A great deal for a very versatile dress. BUY HERE

Looser or Wide Leg Trousers

Still wanting to look put together or stylish, the wide leg trouser or cargo is a hit this Spring. Not everyone is a “jeans girl”, so if you prefer to wear trousers, this is the time as well. Looser fits, 90’s sillouettes, and wide leg trousers are being featured this year.

BUY HERE– comes in 4 other colors.

Flats

We probably all own a pair of ballet flats. Some of the designs that are now out feature a slightly more narrow profile, others with hardwear detail, yet others are more traditional. Take out those flats and wear them with your straight leg denim or white dress! Again, another part of your closet that is still considered a classic. Ballet flats are everywhere as the “mary jane” style but again, with a more sleek profile. I had Mary Janes, that were larger and certainly more clunkier/chunkier.

I’m a fan of Franco Sarto shoes, and these metallic ones would elevate an outfit. Whether its jeans or a white dress, they are statement making!

Want a pop of red for your outfits? This strappy number has all the details.

SO, tell me in the comments, which trend or trends would you be more likely to wear this Spring?

Have a great weekend!

Jess

Some good trends! You can’t go wrong with a trench, I noticed a few are reduced in price so I may go for it. I love white dresses and the strappy red shoes too. Thanks for linking! xx

I know! I bought one last year and paid full price. I wouldn’t normally do that, but the classic style and size were there . These are still classics!

Oh, these are good trends! I definitely like the blue trend and find it works well with my grey hair. White dresses are always good in the spring and summer, too. My maiden name was Rose so I always have roses in my closet. Actually, I think I’m pretty set except for the flats. I have to be careful with my bad foot! I really need arch support and find a slight wedge works better. Gosh, I love flats, though!

Oh yes, blue hues look so good with grey, silver or white haired ladies. Aw, I love that you wear roses for your middle name. Flats are tough for me, as I need support too.
