10 May Wearing a Structured Blazer with Shorts

Blazers remain one of my favorite garments to feel stylish and modern. I am sharing how to wear blazers with shorts today. 

A Blazer with Shorts

I have always been a blazer girl. In college I was wearing blazers- wool, double breasted, plaid, you name it.

I love the structured look and the fashionable style.

The look of a structured blazer with shorts has been popular and trending, and I will give you a few ideas on how to wear it.

This blazer is new, and a score from Poshmark, the second hand site, where I discover great finds!

The brand is called, Keepsake the Label, a new to me brand . “Since its formation in 2011, Keepsake the Label has provided a directional take on traditional forms of eveningwear. This was the intention of Australian Fashion Labels Creative Director Melanie Flintoft, who saw the need for high-end, price-pointed formalwear that still offered crisp lines and intricate detailing in luxe fabrics. The periwinkle color caught my eye and on Poshmark, it was worn as a suit with tailored shorts. For a structured look, matching shorts looks quite stylish, here I styled it a bit more casually with denim shorts. My jacket is a relaxed fit double breasted style with a belt. I am wearing my usual size 4 in this brand and it is a relaxed, roomy fit. I could certainly style them with my strappy white sandals( sim) from Zara for a dressier look.

Happenings

I hope you all had a wonderful Mother’s Day weekend and celebrated mom. We spent the day at Sanders Ridge Winery, about an hour or so north of Lake Norman, where my sister, niece, and nephew joined us as we had Mother’s Day brunch. It was a lovely day.

What has been great is that we have actually had a Spring here! Some years Winter leads directly into Summer with heat and humidity. It has been cool and sunny. The blazer is perfect for those Spring days!

If you are not one to wear 4″ length shorts, the blazer lends itself nicely to be worn with Bermuda shorts as well. A uniform of sorts, with a tank or cami, tailored or Bermuda shorts and blazer.

I remember a few years ago, “bike shorts” were a trend worn with blazers. You won’t see me sporting this trend!
