By now, besides fashion you know I like wine. We visited one of the 75 nearest wineries with my parents when they visited last weekend. An easy drive, as well as a pleasant one, North Carolina lines it’s roads at times with yellow fields of flowers, unlike some areas of Pennsylvania ,or dirt roads of the Carolinas, where potholes are more abundant on roadways than yellow petals. My parents were impressed with the large stone building, beautiful fountain and the large surrounding grounds with gazebos, large vineyard, and scenery. We ate at the Bistro, and there were many sumpscious dishes to choose from. I picked crusted grouper with creamed spinach, some cornbread, and of course a wine pairing, called 3 red, which was to my liking, as it was a dry, somewhat fruity wine. After eating, we did some wine tasting, my husband and I the dry, my parents the sweet. Boy, I new they were in for some winces when they got to the Muscadine grape! Whew, is that sweet. I stay away from any syrupy dessert tasting wine, and enjoyed the pinot grigio, as well as their 3 blend, and chardoney. I know you are thinkin’ ” Where are my folks?” Well, we ended up exploring the grounds as they did, so I know my dad got pictures as well.  Overall, it was a lovely day.

My outfit was another of my black lace skirts via Ann Taylor, with peplum top as a staple. I needed some blue in the wardrobe, so bought this blue and mint green necklace at Charming Charlies, a new store near us, where teenage girls and older ladies alike, can feel like a kid in a candy store when it comes to accessories. My shoes you are familiar with , and my Brahmin added color matching the necklace I was wearing, in addition to some texture from the bag

Have a Great day!

    Hi Jess
Love the outfit and the winery! I thought for sure for a minute it was Napa and to think it’s NC where I’ve recently relocated to! We are into wines as well and would love to know where this is / what winery. Can you share? Love your blog too!

Sure Sandra. I can’t remember when but I did another fashion post with this winery when just my husband and I went. It is called Childress Vineyards, about an hour-1: 15 north of Lake Norman ( where I am) or 2 hours North of Charlotte. I would love it if you could follow my blog on Bloglovin ( a button you press on the right), often times I do posts about the local wine bars, entertainment and such. Where are you in NC? Glad you liked the outfit as well. I love fashion and especially skirts if you see on my blog.

Thanks for the information Jess! We moved to the Raleigh area from Boston in January. My husband and I love wine – particularly reds. We lived in Europe for 3 years and northern California for 6 months (among a few other places over the last 12 years) so have had lots of experience tasting and experimenting! I’m 52 and feel 32 but gravity is taking over unfortunately! I love clothes and especially dresses and skirts. I joined your blog and look forward to your posts!

No problem Sandra. I bet you are glad to be in a warmer climate. My husband and I love reds as well. I am a huge fan of Spanish wines, I love tempranillos, malbecs, Granache. I also love Pinot Noir, you just have to find a good Vineyard. I have not been to Europe, we hope to make it to Italy for our 15th Ann ( 2 yrs), and I have enjoyed many Vineyards, trying different wines, as well as tasting myself. I am 45, but feel younger as well.. although I do think of it as a number. Ah.. gravity , I am sure you still look great. I am mostly a skirt girl, but will wear shorts in the summer here, it gets hot. So don’t be surprised if you see shorts on my posts coming up… I will follow up with dresses and skirts too. Thanks for joining 🙂

            Hi Jess
Let me know when you start planning your trip to Italy. It was our favorite place of all – we took 4 visits there (long weekends and week long vacations). Our very best friends got married in a little village in Tuscany. It was idyllic. We will definitely be planning a trip back once I retire – have even thought of moving there but don’t think that’s going to happen! My favorite reds are cab sav, syrah and malbecs as well but I love most! Also most whites except for California chardonnays. We were totally enamored with them before we moved to Europe but now too buttery/oaky for the palate. Love a great crisp French white chardonnay which is nothing like the californian. We loved our time in CA too though and got to spend a lot of time in Napa, Sonoma, and Mendocino. We just avoided the chards….:-) Unfortunately shorts are my nemesis – I hate myself in shorts – thus the love for skirts and maxi dresses. I do love how you like Ann Taylor – one of my favs as well. Can always find a classic piece there. I just found and ordered several items from Covered Perfectly that I absolutely love and can’t wait to wear!

I love our local winery, but it’s been a few months since I have been. Seems amazing. My hubby makes wine from home so we enjoy that often.

Thank you very much! I did have a nice time. There are a ton of vineyards in NC. I appreciate the compliment. I too, love lace skirts, I think for mostly the same reason. I am wearing lace skirts throughout my blog. The bag is a Brahmin. I love nice handbags, but this color caught my attention, as well as its structure. Check out Ebay, that is where I get most of my deals on handbags. Nice to meet you, stop by again. Jess

Thanks so much!! I would love if we could follow each other. I appreciate the feedback about the outfit I put together. Would love to wear some cool looking stilletos or the lace up sandals, but I can’t wear heels. Manufacturers are making prettier ones too for people that can’t wear high heels. The vineyard is very pretty! Enjoy your weekend too.

What a difference to see you in black following your pastels or brighter pink recently. I equally love black on you, Jess. A beautiful dressed up look, perfect for the occasion and the weather.
Sounds like an awesome day with your parents at the winery!

Thank you Annette! Yes, I do have quite a few blush and pastel colors. I am short on tops this season, so I will have to spend my $ there next. You know how I love skirts. We had a great time, that Vineyard is a favorite and my parents were never there. Thank you for the lovely comments, you may be surprised at some outfits for next week. Have a great weekend!!
