Grey Cashmere Poncho with Grey Jeans

Morning!

The weather has changed here in NC. It feels like Winter and looks like it as well. It seems my favorite season ( Fall) goes by so quickly.  I am dressed in layers and it was time to pull out the denim this week! Not long until Christmas and our road trip to PA!

Outfit

I still want to do a post on my favorite jeans, especially because that is probably what many of you wear in these upcoming colder months. Layers, jeans, coats. Repeat..

Today, I wanted to wear this BLACK ( the company) plaid grey cashmere poncho as I love monochromatic looks here and there and greys and taupes is a favorite color scheme. I love grey with white as well, so I would also substitute my white jeans for this look for a vibrant neutral look.

I also loved this poncho as it is cut smaller than some ponchos that are one size and let’s face it, you can’t go wrong with cashmere. Watch though! It can become an addiction, not a bad one, but a cashmere addiction!

If you want more color in this look, add it with earrings, a bag, a necklace or in my case, a brooch.  I usually pair grey with silver accessories, but color near the face will look good as well.

It really looks like Winter here instead of fall. The trees are bare and the temps have dropped into the 30s on this day. Now that’s cold for the South! Even though this girl is originally from the “Burg, I am not a cold weather person, so the photoshoots are done quickly!

This formula works well in the cold months. Layering shirt underneath a stylish poncho, skinny jeans, and booties. Layers will keep you warm, but also can look stylish without looking like the Abominable Snowman.

This weekend, we dropped off Thor’s gifts, and my hairstylist and friend came over to refresh my hair. My sister and niece are coming today to exchange gifts before we make the trek to Harleysville, PA for the Holidays. Long trip! But I did buy this great full back and shoulders heating pad from Amazon, that we will plug in. Seats are heated too, so that should help.

I’ve included some cashmere and ponchos in the links at the bottom.

Jess, this poncho is gorgeous! I love the soft shades of gray and taupe and of course the plaid is totally my jam. And those booties are too cute! The little embroidered detail is perfect! Great look, my friend. I hope you have the most wonderful New Year!

Hi Elizabeth! I’ve always loved fashion, but I do make sure what I buy can be worn with my existing closet. Really should be fun! Thx for stopping!

This is such a nice monochromatic look. I agree that some ponchos can be overly big. I hope I can find a cashmere sweater in the store (vs online) so I can try it on in person.

Hi Kim! Did you find your cashmere? I bet you’ll find sales after Christmas! I’d like a few more basic turtlenecks, so I’ll check end of season. Xx

That poncho is so pretty and I bet it feels like a dream! Old Navy Rockstar jeans are so good and those look great on you. Love the pop of color from the brooch – your signature style! Hope you have a great day and stay warm and cozy!
