Happy 4th!

Three cheers for the red, white and blue, even though I neglected to wear it today

 . It will be a belated outfit. OK?  One of my memories of this day was in the 4th grade, me with my blue long floral dress ( I liked florals then) carrying a little flag, and doing my dance and performance to  Grand Old Flag.                              .

 Other memories conjure up seeing the Symphony Pops and hearing them play patriotic songs. As always, memories surface with picnics, fireworks, and me and my brother lighting those lame little charcoal snakes in the driveway, while other kids were shooting bottle rockets.

Anyhow,  a few years ago, I was given a variation of this recipie and have loved it ever since, so I wanted to share it with you. Enjoy this 4th of july recipie

Strawberry, Blueberry, Feta Spinach-and Sweetened Pecan-Salad.

My cooking goes something like this: ( notice I am not that speciific with measurements)

Get a bag of lettuce ( baby spinach preferrably) Rinse, then put in bowl.

Crumple in some of your favorite brand of Feta cheese.

Add sliced strawberries, blueberries, enough depending on amount served.

Meanwhile, buy a bag of pecans, and put into pan, adding sugar and butter, watch over stove, as to not burn the nuts! They should end up toasted and sweet.

Add the toasted, sweetened pecans to the salad.

So, you should have spinach, toasted pecans, feta, strawberries and blueberries. You can add additional vegetables if you like such as mushrooms or peppers for taste.

Stir it all together. enjoy the red ( strawberries) white ( Feta) and blue( blueberries) Add a light balsamic vinegrette to the salad. 

Despite the fact I went with different colors today, I hope you like the styling of the crepe black skirt, mint lace top outlined in black, and my new Kate Spade Birthday bag I bought.My day is July 8th..

      Thanks so much. I didn’t have my husband get a closeup of my necklace, it is a vintage type piece in greenish mint. Thank you.. I do love designer bags, I think since I cant wear awesome heels because of my illness, I gravitated to bags. My hubby says he has a surprise for me for the 8th, my birthday.
