01 Jan Happy New Year 2018 -Jazz up Your Look with Brocade Booties
Hello Ladies!
Happy New Year! I hope you all had such a wonderful Holiday with your families and enjoyed Christmas day. We spent the Holidays in Harleysville, with my in-laws. The drive was a bit longer.. and we are lucky to have pups that do nothing but sleep and just hang out as we make the long drive. They have more patience than i do when waiting in traffic! We had a lovely time and I enjoy going to their church for Holiday service, as my sister-in law conducts a bell choir, and they are big on music with piano, trumpets, tuba, flutes and guitar. Today I am just sharing the first look of the Year-2018 and will be sharing how to’s for styling outfits on the blog, as well as those important midlife topics. Friday, I hope to share some of my goals -both personally and with the blog, as I take stock of the year and what I would love to add/change in my life and on the blog. Excited about what 2018 has to come!
2017 was a pretty good year. I was able to do more and get off some of my medications, do some traveling, and enjoy some wonderful collaborations on the blog. I am also a new Aunt, as my brother and sis in law had little Aedan. I have enjoyed getting to know some other midlife bloggers as well as enjoying the support of my blogger friends and their blogs.
We keep it low key when it comes to New Years Eve. I enjoy making a special dinner with food we get from Fresh Market-crab cakes, salmon, and a special bottle of wine. We stay up to watch the ball drop from Times Square, and if I don’t stay awake, ( which is me most of the time) hubby turns to me, says “Jess, 10 more seconds”… we count down and then….Happy New Year! It’s fun but nice and relaxing after a long trip. I wish I could help my girl to stop staring at the celing at the loud booms, as the fireworks go off outside.
Today, i am excited to share with you one of the fashionable Christmas gifts my hubby gave me. I have been pinning and saving different brocade and embroidered booties when they first became popular. I loved the look and the style of the brocade bootie and how the textures and colors would amplify a look.
If you have an outfit with solid colors, the brocade bootie can bring it to life! These are from Franco Sarto, and i had been eyeing these for awhile, with the gold, rust, navy and burgundy colors, such richness on my feet! I also plan to show ways to pattern mix on the blog this year, using the
So if you are looking for added color of texture, add a pair of embroidered or brocade booties. These will be worn with dresses, jeans m nearly anything in which i want to add more pizzazz.

Posted at 16:26h, 02 JanuaryThose booties are spectacular! What a nice Santa you have! Love the way you styled them too. I am trying not to buy too many new things right now – even though EVERYTHING is on sale – because the cold doesn’t last long around here but it sure is tempting when I see so many cute outfits. I could probably justify those booties because they’d look terrific in Spring too! You look lovely Jess!
