Hello Lovely Ladies and Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours
Here it is. The beginning of the Holidays, and I begin to reminisce about what our Thanksgivings were like as a kid Before I get sentimental about days gone by, I thought I would bring up a show, The Middle, I watched the other day. There Thanksgiving episode had me thinking, what a great idea, the mom wearing maternity pants, or ” eat everything you can eat without bursting pants!”
Frankie, the character decided to go out to eat with her family at one of those all you can eat places, and she had on maternity pants so she could litterally stuff herself! I was cracking up, at just the idea or thought, but how many of us wear pants on Thanksgiving? Is there a “Thanksgiving outfit” you have had for years knowing that the elastic waist pant was the only time you would be caught DEAD wearing them? Do you gravitate toward the velour tracksuit with the stretchable middle?
It would of course be no surprise that I would wear a dress or skirt. This dress was another find on Ebay, and I loved the color and the style. I never considered the comfort for Thanksgiving factor, but now you have it! I will be headed to my sister;s house for some of the Thanksgiving fare and of course, some quality vino.
Remembering our Thanksgiving as kids, we always had the kid’s table, the adult table, and would sometimes make place cards made from our hands with colored turkey feathers from construction paper. Uncles would watch football, as all the men shouted, especially my dad, loud enough for the neighbors 2 doors down to here, while, I just wanted to take a nap. Talk a bit with the relatives and go to sleep. When you think about it, it isn’t all that different now.
I do remember saying what I am thankful for, and that HAS changed.
I am thankful for my loving family and for my fur babies, Gibby and Truffles, friends I have met through this interest of mine, that my health has improved I am more functional than I was 7 years ago when this began. Just 7 years ago when my illness began, things were very different, and I was barely functional. One of the “blessings” was it was the reason we bought the puppies, as they are the best comfort and provide me with such joy and love. I am thankful for my medical team, as it only took me 7 years to put all my great docs together! I am also thankful for my hair. It will always be long, and not grey.( you know i had to joke a bit!)
Hope you all Enjoy the Thanksgiving Weekend!
