I always feel like December rushes through the month, while other months drag on. I think it is all the preparation and anticipation that comes with the Holidays. All of the memories and traditions we may try and recreate with our families this time of year. Last night, we attended a party on a boat, enjoying the lights from the houses that were waterfront. Good food and drink were offered as was the Captain’s attempt at humour. He did try so hard! He did have a captive audience though.  This was one event that was something different for us, and we enjoyed the company. Between shopping for gifts and just all of the day to day, we still have to decorate the tree and add more of the Christmas Spirit around the house. I bought a new Santa Suit for my boy, Gibson, at Michaels, as the quality of his suit over my girl’s was just not the same. The difference between Target one year and the next. I am sure you will see them in their suits soon here on the blog. My girl Truffles tail actually starts wagging the moment I take it out. Anytime I wear gold during the holidays, the song by Burl Ives creeps into my head, “Silver and Gold, Silver and Gold, Everyone wishes for silver and gold…

Today I decided instead of the traditional red or green, I would go for a gold and off-white look. Yes, there is lace involved. You may see more and more of it, as I have a fondness for well made delicate lace, as well as faux leather and faux fur.  However , each lace skirt I have is uniquely different from the scalloping to the bottom to the leather waistband. The necklace is new, and I went for a somewhat understated long necklace with a taupe stone surrounded with gold. I am not a girl that does “heavy on the bling”. The sweater is from Ann Taylor, and it is light and delicate with a peplum shape that would flatter any figure. There are gold flecks in the skirt, also from Ann Taylor, but the scalloped bottom and intricate lace captured my eye when I saw this on line a few years ago, it was a part of their Holiday Collection, but I knew I could wear it anytime.  You have seen it on the blog. The earrings are were bought at Lipp, a boutique near us, and I love the way they sparkle with gold. I decided to add a bit of color to this neutral cream/gold look by adding my most cushioned Vareli red bow shoes, and GiGi red leather clutch. The shoes are favorites as it feels as I am walking on small pillows, who wouldn’t want that!
