Holiday Look- Winter White Outfit and Red Coat

I’ve always loved the look of Winter White. Classy and chic, I really love a monochromatic look in Winter White, so I I’m on the hunt for some trousers. Today, however, I wanted to style my cream antique lace skirt as it has gold threading throughout, adding a bit of a festive touch!

Outfit

I’ve always been one to dress up for the Holidays and used to love seeing everybody “dressed to the nines” at Mass on Christmas day.

Since many will be doing virtual services this year, you may not feel the need to dress up.

I always thought this Special day, qualified for some fancy attire!

I had been on the hunt for a Winter white sweater for awhile. I purchased one on Mango with ruffles and an interesting textured knit. Problem was it was cropped on me. Too short, so off it went.

During the Black Friday sales, I came across this knitted puffed sleeve beauty, and it was on sale for $18! so of course, I bought it! I am wearing an XS for reference, and this one is not short on me. I love the detail and the slight mock neck. It really looks handmade .I’ve found some others for you and good price points you might enjoy.

textured ecru sweater

This pearl applique sweater ( I love!)

Cable Knit under $60

My lace Ann Taylor skirt is an “oldie but goodie” and one you have seen on the blog. There are always certain pieces I reach for this time of year. There is a metallic gold thread woven in between the lace, that makes it that much more special.

I debated between my cream booties and these taller black OTK boots. Both would work well, but I wanted to continue the leg line with the slim black leather boot, as the skirt hits above the knee.

My Red Coat

I know its North Carolina. And yes, we still need a coat:-) Maybe 2 or so months out of the year. The last coat I had, this brilliant teal colored wool number was a favorite of mine,. Ah, jewel tones! However, it pilled after a few years and I was sad to see it go.

Now, what’s a girl to do? Look for another coat! This coat, from Mango, was purchased last August on sale. It was about $150 and I loved the longer double breasted style.

Coming orginally from Pittsburgh,( me, not the coat)  I just love coats! You can wear sweatpants and still look put together if you have on a structured coat!  I am wearing an XS in this winter coat and the sweater underneath is medium in thickness. This red wool coat from Bloomingdales is a great investment as well. This pretty red coat is a bit less expensive and has a lovely longer style.

Are you  a fan of winter whites?  What kind of coats you enjoy wearing?

Always classy and beautiful. I had never tried winter white until last year when I dabbled with my first purchase…a chunky knit sweater. Love the Mango pearl embellished one you shared. Would be gorgeous with leggings!!
I appreciate that you dress up for mass. I still dress up for church. And I am missing church so much. Hope we can soon return. It has been too long.

I absolutely love a classic styled coat and that one in red is gorgeous! I just ordered a similar one in camel. Like you, I can’t wear coats too often here but it’s fairly lightweight and too great to pass up. Your winter white pieces with the black accessories is so pretty too, Jess!

Thank you Jodie! I love Winter white and think it is so chic! The red coat was something I considered last year. I bought a camel coat too recently , thinking I have always wanted one. We will see if I keep both.

What a great outfit, your coat looks so smart with those gorgeous boots, only item I would have added with be a fine pair of leather gloves.

HI! Thank you! It wasn’t quite cold enough for gloves, but I do have a new quilted pair I will wear with it! Thanks for stopping by!
