Wearing Bright Colors in the Winter

Bright and vibrant was in order for the day, as Winter is here. We had about 2-3 inches and a Winter storm warning. Often times, we get a big warning, everything is closed, and there is much ado about nothing. So, this time they were right. I do think that winter snow is prettier than the bareness that Winter brings. My pups were so funny as they aren’t used to walking out and sinking into the snow!

One way to wear bright colors in the Winter is if your dress or outfit has bright colors, such as this green and orange, keep the accessories neutral. I am carrying my Teddy Blake olive structured bag and black croc print booties. I could have layered as well, and worn a thick, chunky sweater over this dress as well.

If you just want to incorporate some brights for a bit more pep in your step in the Winter months, here are some ways to do it 

• a bright printed scarf
• a textured faux fur coat
• a structured wool coat in a bright color like green, cobalt, yellow
• boots or shoes in a fun bright color can bring a Winter outfit to life- See this post – wearing red shoes 
• Layering- try a bright slip dress or bright colored sheath dress with a neutral colored (I love black) turtleneck underneath.

Because we sometimes need a “lift” mentally in these months, my eyes went straight for this Zara dress. And it has pockets! Seems like every lady out there goes ga-ga for pockets! You do want to keep the rest of the look neutral as it already speaks for itself! I certainly would have linked this for you, but alas it must have sold out in their sale!

Weekend Fun

I have been busy working on a blog look over the past few weeks. My hubby is in IT, so of course he helps me choose, but picked one with so many options it can be overwhelming! Getting there though..

We have been a bit busy helping my brother and SILgetting their deliveries for their house. They are decking out their pool area, I know my SIL is looking forward to that! Pool party! Hubby and I went to Childress Vineyards on Saturday, and enjoyed lunch, a bottle of Sangiovese (one of our favorite Italian varietals) and listen to music. We wanted to get out as we knew Sunday was going to be a “no go” due to snow.
