04 Jan Turning Heads Linkup-Happy New Year! Casual Yet Polished
Happy New Year my friends!
Best wishes for the New Year to everyone.
Red is always a favorite bold shade of mine, and I thought I would start the year off with such a vibrant color.
Anyone else have a bit of a slow go about it yesterday? Sometimes it’s hard to get the motor running when you had a long break and Holiday! We had a great time in PA, but 12-hour drives are tough with this condition. We certainly enjoyed the company, had lots of food and goodies and of course my in-laws enjoyed the pups. We had to get a family picture all in our Buffalo Plaid on Christmas Eve. I usually post pictures like this on my Instagram Stories, so follow me on IG if you don’t already.
We also went to the Philidelphia Zoo to see Illuminature, which was a light exhibit within the zoo, with 12 stations. I loved the “Under the Sea.”
I wanted to start off the new year with a few casual looks. (Yesterday’s post- Happy New Year! Combats are Still Going Strong!
Casual for me, is not jeans and a tee, but putting together my denim with pieces that still look “put together.”
It was time to bring out a few new pairs of shoes of mine. I actually won these tasseled suede Italian mules on Instagram from a company called, Bells & Becks. Let’s see, I won a Victorian doll with golden blonde hair wearing a green dress at a Bakery when I was about 7. Other than that, nada! So, I was happily surprised. These Mules. I have admired these on people, as they looked like nestling your feet in a comfy slipper.
They are a luxury brand , made in Italy and are currently on sale.
The pointed toe is perfect, as it elongates the leg, even as a flat.
We all need a bit of vibrance and color in the Winter months, don’t we?
I of course, had to choose red.
“Red is the ultimate cure for sadness.” – Bill Blass
Even after the Holidays, I struggle a bit with SAD, although it isn’t quite as dreary as Pittsburgh in the Winter, I think it is just the darkness and bareness that gets to me.
So, this certainly isn’t a cure all, but I find that wearing certain colors can have a positive, happy effect on me, and red is one.
I chose a pair of Mom jeans to wear with this look, as the higher waist and slightly shorter inseam showcased both the jacket and shoes. I am wearing a black cami underneath and the leopard scarf adds to one of my favorite combinations with red. The Mango tweed jacket was a steal at $10 on Poshmark 🙂
New Year- Newness
As I mentioned yesterday, I hope to have several new things to share with you on the blog. I am working on a “new look” as well as planning on discussing my goals for the New Year. Was I able to achieve what I wanted for 2021?
I have also joined and started Like to Know it. If you are unfamiliar with this app, it allows for you to shop directly on the items I upload. Outfits, products, etc. So, I would love if you followed me there.
I will also soon have a 2022 Survey for Readers of the blog to complete, to help me bring you the content you love seeing.
So it’s back to business!
Got my festive gel mani before Christmas, all emerald green except for the sparkly gold on ring fingers 🙂
Santa brought this dainty single pearl gold necklace and I have layered the two gold necklaces here in place of the scarf.
