Leopard Pencil

IMG_5559
Happy Wednesday
What can I say? I love pencil skirts and I love leopard. IF. it. Is. Done. Well. How many of us have seen some cheap looking leopard prints? I think everyone can wear leopard it just had to be a nice quality of leopard. THis skirt is jaquard and I bought it last year from one of my Fav stores, Ann Taylor.

Morning Ladies,

This was just one of those days we headed to Firebirds near our mall to have a little lunch and some half prices martinis. I love the Cucumber Martini and the Pineapple Martini. We were out there taking pictures after lunch when a security guard came over looking quite serious. She wondered if my husband was a professional photographer and what was the nature of our business?  I thought, I never had this happen before? ! They seemed to want to know if we were taking picures of the mall itself, or the building. I told her I had a blog, and she used her walkie talky to convey this information. After that, I felt kind of wierd. What are ya gonna do! I suppose anyone with an SLR camera looks suspicious, or if they ask every kid that takes a cell phone picture about photographs.

Anyhow, we went closer to the trees away from the building, no problem.

I was in the mood for leopard print, and I loved this jacquard print from Ann Taylor last year. It caught my eye when I saw it in the window. Love that the print it flowers and leopard within. I bet any money that Alice, Happiness at Midlife has this as well! We both like Ann Taylor!! I bought the shoes from Ebay, and loved the vintage look with the square toe and large bow. Very 50s/60s to me. THe cardigan is from Ann Taykor, and it is shorter, but I like that I would wear a shorter or even a cropped sweater with a higher pencil skirt. I love brooches, and have a penchant for finding antique or unique ones from Etsy. I bought this one however with it’s checks a nd then copper feathers. THe copper feathers stood out to me! I love structured bags, but once in awhile I like to carry a light or clutch bag if I don’t feel like carrying alot. That was the case today.

Enjoy the rest of your week!!

Jess xo

A leo print pencil skirt, on you Jess, is perfection! Love the fitted cardi and the gorgeous brooch!
I agree sometimes leopard can be a bit tacky, but it seems like bloggers know how to wear it well.
    You do!

That’s soooo cool that you both have the same skirts! Both of you look fab! It’s a unique print and pencil skirts are so elegant and slimming (although, you don’t need slimming, my dear Jess–you have a model figure!).

How appropriate…I am actually working on a animal print trend story for later this week and have been looking at a lot of cute leopard pieces. You are absolutely right about the fact that it has to be done right so it doesn’t look cheap. Your skirt is really cute and I love how you are wearing it in a simple yet chic way. By the way me and my husband have been stopped by many security guard while doing photos so dont feel bad 🙂
