Maroon Leather Jacket with Flirty Skirt

Ann Taylor Maroon jacket

Hello Ladies

This is another ensemble Santa came through with. Ok, Santa has a bit of help. Did you know that since we were kids, not only does he look at handwritten lists, but links sent to him via Amazon Wishlist, and these items were on it! I first saw this jacket when it came out at  Ann Taylor, and again, knew it was meant to be. Also, a reminder the Nordstrom Giveaway goes until Jan 18th.

I love looking at everyone’s winter coats, from classic styles and colors such as red and camel, to pastels like baby blue and soft pink. However, in Charlotte, the weather is pretty mild, ( except for this cold spell) and I tend to wear more leather and faux leather jackets than wool. This coat interested me because of the color, but also because it is made so well, being slightly heavier weight than many faux leather jackets. I also love the family of purples, plums, oxblood, maroons this fall. Later, this skirt popped up on the internet, and I also love tweed, and the style of this flirty skirt with it’s detail of faux leather side pockets looked like they were meant to be together. Like Boggart and McCall, Fred and Ginger, Lucy and Desi, you know what I am getting at. I also got these  new fab black pointed mary janes from Zara; I love that they will be year round shoes as well.

Now, I know I mentioned Resolutions, and I like to consider them Goals. Here are mine for the year:

1. Do some posts on finding “deals” and how to shop for “steals”

2. Feature other over 40 bloggers.

3.Personal: Manage time best for efficiency with social media, blog, etc, in order to fit in other interests and hobbies like jazz guitar.

4. For my illness, swim in a warm water pool wearing a neoprene jacket to keep in body heat for cardio health. Walk or use home video for varied interest

5. Purchase some spring staples for my spring, summer wardrobe.

6. Continue to strive to do my best, even with health set backs.

7. Hug my puppies even more!

Also, just as a reminder, you have until the 18th to try for the $590 Gift card to Nordstrom

See the Giveaway HERE

Tell me about your “Goals” this year ( note: and it can’t be shop more ! haha)

Jess, I’m lovin that you are wearing the over-the-knee socks. I wish I could, but I’m just too short to pull it off. I adore the look! and your new shoes from Zara are great! Again, you nailed your color choices!!

I love the jacket! I can’t believe it’s faux. I have a few goals for the new year. For blogging one is to move over to self-hosted and for personal one is to get a handle on organizing our ever -growing mounds of paper.

This is my kind of outfit… Feminine with an edge! You are daring in those stockings, what do you even call them?
I love the resolution to hug dogs more and wear the neoprene to swim…

I love that coat – I would have gotten it, had I not just gotten one very similar from F21 (which is amazingly really good quality – sometimes the faux leather can be a little questionable).

You have some very good goals. I am working on setting goals – so I stay more focused. Happy New Year!

I love this jacket and was tempted to order it but stopped myself since I already have a leather coat in the same color. I have to say, Santa was really good to you! Love it paired with the tweed skirt.
