10 Sep Mellow Yellow

Hello Ladies!

Happy Wednesday. My hubby and I took our needed time to recoup from the trip, and went out to our favorite place to take the pups, Barkdale,  known to non-dog owners as “Birkdale”, a cute shopping center, with a wine bar where “everybody knows our name.”

I called this post Mellow Yellow, as to the color scheme I was wearing, and also to the way I feel after having a few glasses of a tasty, crisp Pinot Grigio. Yes, relaxed. Mellowed out. Well, we go to our favorite Wine Bar, Corkscrew, and we hear the chorus of, ” where have you guys been?”, ” I haven’t seen you in awhile” etc.. this may mean 2 weeks in wine bar time. But hey, we were there now! We brought the pups, as we do like to take them with us often  and because the owner newly installed fans, a new  covered porch with flowers , they are much cooler there and don’t have to worry about the direct sun beating down on their furry little bodies.

I do call this place Barkdale as you may have surmised, due to the fact that everyone and their grandmother, literally speaking, brings their dog out for a walk. We met, “Maverick” who we beleive to be a cross between a Lasso Apso and Shih TZu,  a golden retreiver ( whose name I cant remember), Labrdoodle named Sarah, and many others! Well, you know Gibby, my shadow, is more outgoing and does go up to dogs no matter the size. Truffles, on the otherhand, would rather lay under my chair and not be noticed. Well, let’s just say Maverick NOTICED Gibson a bit TOO much . I got to hear the tale, as I was in the bathroom at the time. Poor little Maverick was gender confused we think! He decided he was going to hump my little Gibby a few times at the wine bar, and my boy, this being totally unexpected, did not return his affections! He just laid there submissively not knowing what to do. I think, out of embarrasment, the pup’s owner graciously thanks us for info on the area, and said their goodbyes.

My poor boy, he just doesn’t know how cute he is! ha.  We stayed awhile, walked the trail and I got my new addiction on the way out, the Strawberries and Creme Frappicino at Starbucks.

It was still quite warm, and will probably be so until the end of Oct. So my painted yellow dress with a yellow cardi, a pearl necklace, and one of my Chalreston Reinvented pieces, these antique inspired pearl and green earrings made their way out of the closet today.

Look’s Like “Maverick ” did as well!
