Monochromatic Outfit in Olive

Good morning friends!

Are you feeling that Monday jolt of energy? Or are you ready to ease on in the day as it feels like the day before?

Do your weekends feel like weekends?

Whichever way you look at it, you do have to get dressed for the day and today I wanted to style my NYDJ camo jean skirt in a monochromatic way.

Outfit

You have seen the skirt worn HERE, when I wore it with a bright floral blouse, mixing patterns. Today I was in an “olive mood” and wanted to style both pieces. Monochromatic looks are quite chic and  easy to put together.

This LOFT top has a cute flutter sleeve and easily tucks in or out. It has a rounded hem, which I prefer if you choose to leave your top out.

This skirt, now on SALE at NYDJ, is comfortable, and has a fair amount of stretch. I sized down to a 2, or one size smaller. The sale is 30% off!

I am picky about my blouses, and love just a special little detail, like the flutter sleeve, as it adds more interest.

My tan croc textured sandals have gotten alot of wear lately.

Weekend Happenings

As difficult as this situation is, we are trying to make use of the weekends for some outings. I think I would lose my mind if I had to stay in the house every day without seeing other locations. Just getting out of one’s usual environment, puts you in a better mood.

I did mention we are hitting the Vineyards on Saturdays. We have been enjoying that outing and it gives you something to hang on to or look forward to during the week. The weather here, as it is in much of the states is in a Heat Wave, and I can tell you, I have sweat upon my sweat! Here in NC it has been very hot!! We still went out to Morgan’s Vineyard a place about an hours drive from us in Lake Norman.

We ordered some tasty lunches and they reserved the table for us. A saxophonist from CA performed and we enjoyed our day out. Frozen slushies in Strawberry Margarita and Pina Colada sounded just right! My mom is feeling certainly more at ease than she was when she first came here. We are being careful, wearing masks, and sitting apart- in chairs already spaced apart from others.

Jess, I love this outfit! What a great way to create a monochromatic look with camo! This skirt is so cute, too! I am glad that you are able to get out to places on the weekends. I can definitely attest to the fact that staying at home for months on end is enough to drive any person crazy! I have only left my house maybe a dozen times in the past 4 months and it is really getting to me. Thanks for sharing this cute look and linking up with me!

Ooo I love what you did here with your olive outfit. The camo skirt is a sure winner and keeper in my opinion and how pretty are those sandals! Croc pattern can be a hit or a miss but you definitely hit gold with this pair. It’s definitely been hot in my neck of the woods too. Thinking about it just makes me want to melt! I tried to take my son out earlier today for an errand but we were met with a dead car battery instead. So at least we aren’t burning up running errands?! Happy Monday!

It sounds like your outings to vineyards have been so successful. I’m glad your mom is more at east, too. You know I’m a Big Fan of olive and I’d wear this outfit in a heartbeat!

They have been! We have over 100 vineyards, so we have been taking advantage of it, and also it is a place where you can distance and enjoy wine, music. It would look great on you!

Really cute outfit, Jess! My husband and I are retired, so the weekends aren’t particularly important – except for keeping track of MotoGP racing. Glad your mom is feeling happier, and that you’ve found a safe outing to enjoy.

Thank you Michelle! Both hubby and I work from home, so I know what you mean. We are just taking 2 days a week to go out for lunch or to a vineyard. It helps with the mood!
