Hi everyone!

No one was sitting outside at one of our favorite restaurants, Bonefish Grill. The wind, I thought was going to take down some trees. I am exaggerating a bit, but I thought wouldn’t work to take photos. However, after we had our fill, and I got to enjoy my peach Belinni, we thought we would give it a try. I, literally felt like I might be blown away but at this point, I was just holding my skirt down. My husband, while taking the pictures, noticed with my midi skirt, I had a “Maryiln Moment” and decided to snap the shot. That one, is not posted here! I know Google will have a field day, when they create their little animation with the photos. So, because it was windy, you will have to take my word, one could twirl in this skirt!

I know you may be wondering if I shop at many other stores besides Ann Taylor. Yes, I do. The ones that are listed on the sidebar. What I love though, is that I love their style, and I can order clothes in my pajamas. I think this was a dream of mine probably 20 years ago. I know my size, style, and it is that simple. Sometimes too simple, but I do watch my budget. ( increase) Just kidding. The skirt came from Zara, and I like their style as  well. One thing I have to watch, is how short something from there can be, as I recently bought a pink leather skirt, and honestly, it fit me, but would have been obscene to wear outside in public. So, I stuck to this beautiful midi skirt. I am loving the blush trend, but need to make sure color is added so it doesn’t “get lost” in my pale skin. I understand the excitement of the midi skirt, as it makes one feel feminine and lady-like, and also gives one a desire to twirl. The navy lace blouse with the sheerness of the lace on the skin attracted me to this top, and the bottom detailing did as well. ( tucked in you can’t see the bottom). My nude sandals you may be seeing more of, as warmer weather approaches, although I do have numerous  sandals, worn on even hotter days.

Skirt: Zara ( current), Navy lace top ( Ann Taylor, similar), Bag: Balenciaga ( similar my color Vieux Rose is no longer produced) Shoes: Sofft, earrings( color same): Jewel Box

Oh Jess!! I LOVE the jacket!!!!!!!!!!!!! I like the top too but I don’t think I could pull it off. It looks much better on you than it would on me. The jacket… I think I need one of those. Where did you get it?

Oh I love this skirt and it looks great on you! Wise to choose a dark top to add some contrast. This is a great idea, I’m going to remember this. Pretty bag and shoe plus the leather jacket adds a nice contrast.

You look very pretty Jess. Love the pleated skirt and blush is such a lovely, delicate color that looks great against the navy top. I had to laugh to myself when you mentioned the one skirt you ordered that was too short as I saw a young model on some show the other day wearing a little fit and flare dress and while it was very cute I thought it was too short and know I wouldn’t have felt comfortable in it.

Hi Steph! I couldn’t tell you how short it was. I fit me everywhere but length. What is funny is I am 5 9 and I looked up the model’s height and she was 5 10, so I thought ” Hmm It will be a mini, but not a micro-mini I was wrong!” Thank you for the compliment on the skirt and navy lace top. Navy is growing on me more and more, and I liked this combo too. I love these maxi skirts 🙂

    Hi Jess,
I really love navy, so your top would be perfect for me too. The combination with blush is lovely and you look very pretty.I also like your pleated skirt, unfortinately I´m to big for wearing pleated skirts, but I used to when I was skinnier. And your earrings are really cute. My little daughter is crazy about your sweet dogs. She sends them some regards.
    Love Monika

Hi Monika, yes, the top is really pretty. When I shop, it has to be something that grabs my attention, or if online, I just keep going back to look at. That is when you know it is a piece you really would like to add to your wardrobe. Thanks for the lovely comments. I will tell Gibby and Truffy that they have an admirer. xo jess

Thank you Mary. I bought this skirt about 3 weeks ago, and couldn’t wait to wear it. The weather wasn’t warm enough, but then I had my chance! I appreciate it. THe navy lace blouse is very delicate and has such detail, I love it when I saw it. Again, thank you.

Very elegant, Jess, the soft peach colour is fabulous and I also love the contrast with navy blue.
The pleated midi skirt looks great on your slim figure.
You should have taken a photo of the Bellini – matching colours 🙂

    Have a great day,

Thank you Annette! I also liked how the navy worked with this skirt. I think it made both stand out . I think I was too busy drinking the Bellini to take a pic! You have a lovely day as well. If I could wear heels, I would have paired this with either a nude or navy pump with a bow in front.

Thanks Pam . I was pretty happy when I put this together. I didn’t want to match to the skirt, as my skin is fair, as you know, and I the color might look too llght against the skin. Thank you for the lovely comment.
