New Year Skin Care with City Beauty

Happy Friday!

I was excited to share some new skincare products to you today, as I am loving this company- City Beauty. Winter skin needs, even more, caring for, so I thought you might enjoy some of these extra hydrating products.

**the products in this post were gifted to me by City Beauty. All thoughts are mine and truthful.

New Year and New You

Do you like the phrase, “New Year, New You”? or are you happy with the current “you” and some adjustments? I just think the New Year, at least for me, gives me a chance to reflect and think about what I may want to change or add to my life, or in this case, skincare routine.

Skincare is important to me, and I have yet to do any procedure ( doubt I will) but I have nothing against people who want botox, fillers, etc.) Just to say, it isn’t right for me. ( Healing is a concern with EDS)  So, I do what I can to take care of my skin.

City Beauty Skin Care

I’ve talked on the blog about how I didn’t start caring for my skin until my 30’s, but I feel its better late than never when it comes to skincare.

Skincare creams and serums can help dimish fine lines and wrinkles, but I do suggest drinking adequate amounts of water to help in your skin’s hydration. A clean or healthy diet and enough water is important to the health of your skin.  I have an aluminum water bottle that is 40 oz, bought on Amazon, from Simply Modern, and I drink 2 a day. 80 oz! I have to have it ice cold, and it stays cold for 24 hours!  So, in other words, you can put on all the creams in the world, but if you aren’t drinking enough water on a regular basis, it isn’t going to be as effective.

City Beauty sent me these products as the Microbiome Mask was just being released. I have been using the Multi-Action Sculpting Cream and noticed an increase in elasticity in my skin. For me, it tightens but bounces back! I’ve been using this cream for about 6 months. I put on the cream after my primer when I am doing makeup. If I am not doing my makeup, I put it on after exfoliating the skin.

The Blue Hydrogel is a bit newer, as I have used it for about 2 months now and love the smell and the hydration the product offers. Who doesn’t need more hydration for your skin, especially in the winter months? It looks and feels similar to the Chanel Hydra Beauty Serum with a lesser price tag.

from the website-

Blue Defense Hydrogel with a dual-Hyaluronic Acid gel-base. This cutting-edge formula instantly liquefies upon skin contact — absorbing faster and attracting water deeper. To help prevent moisture evaporation, it also forms a protective seal on top of the skin’s outer layer — keeping your skin hydrated for up to 72 hours.”

I alternate between the Hydrogel and the Multi-Action Cream as my moisturizers for the day, before I put on my primer and makeup.

The Invisicrepe Body Balm I have only used a few times, and want to try and continue to use it on my chest area where I have some crepiness. Not much, but some from getting some sun. I’ll have to let you know how that works.

I also just received the Advanced Eye Cream, and I am anxious to try, as I have crow’s feet I would like to lessen. The brand states that the cream helps to build collagen, which can aid in smoothing out the lines. I just started this past week to use it once a day.

In addition to these products, I do use a Retinol product to help lessen lines and wrinkles as well as build collagen.

MicroBiome Night Mask-

I was recently sent a box of skincare items, with the newest product, The MicroBiome Night Mask. City Beauty says ” The MicroBiome Night Mask  is the first and only sleeping mask of its kind to work WITH your skin’s nighttime repair process for a dramatic improvement in skin firmness, smoothness, and radiance.”

What I like is that it is not tested on animals and it has reduced the appearance of wrinkles as well as made my skin smoother along with the other City Beauty face products I use.  The mask is not heavy and is absorbed into my skin easily. It really is like a treat for my skin! I have been using it every night for the last 2 weeks, ( as it was just released).

I LOVE it! It is silky creamy and I put a thin layer of it on at night. You keep it on overnight and wash off in the morning. I find that it is absorbed into my skin, so there isn’t much to wash off in the morning.

I also use the Advanced Eye cream at night before bed and have just started a week ago, so I’ll have to keep you posted if it helps my crow’s feet.

I’ve taken some photos of my forehead in different lighting in the bathroom. I am so pleased with it, as I have noticed the difference with my fine lines! They have almost disappeared and the line in between my eyebrows has lessened as well. Now to work on those crows feet!

In the bath.

ok. That’s probably enough pictures of my forehead! lol.

City Beauty Under Eye Recovery is ON SALE! It helps dark circles and is a brightener to help get rid of puffiness. SALE until Jan 20th!

Take care of your skin. It really isn’t to late to try and it makes you feel good to know you are helping your skin to look and feel better.

This looks like a great product line, Jess! I still don’t really do much as far as skin care is concerned other than daily washing and occasional moisturizing, but I do enjoy reading the reviews. Thanks for sharing and linking up!
