28 May Not Interested in Shorts? Wear a Denim Skirt for Spring / Summer
Good Morning!
Happy Memorial Day! I hope you are enjoying the day with your family. Maybe a cookout or just hanging out, and perhaps a jump in the pool. Our pool opened May 1st here, but I know many open on Memorial Day, making the official start of summer. I also listed some SALES going on now for Memorial Day. These are brands or stores in which i shop, and there are some good deals!
I know not all ladies like to wear shorts in the warmer weather. I enjoy wearing them from time to time , and will show some styles on the blog, but as an alternative, how about a denim skirt? I shared this item as one of the 10 Spring Staples for Your Closet, and do enjoy wearing mine throughout the Spring and Summer months. Basically, a cooler version of jeans. I just can’t wear jeans in the summer.. the thought of the denim sticking to my legs does not appeal to me. So, I choose dresses, shorts, skirts- included this A-line button down denim skirt I bought last summer at Loft.
I have some pairs of shorts I will share that I purchased from Loft on a short buying spree a few summers ago. Let’s face it! It gets mighty hot here in the South, especially in June and July. September last year remained in the 90s. So, I had already mentioned wearing Linen, in this post- Trending Now-Linen, but you can also stay comfortable in a lighter weighted denim skirt.
What I liked about this particular skirt, is that the buttons down the front reminded me of an older style I used to wear. The denim is quite soft, which is another selling point for me. There is some stretch, so it moves with you. I also loved the A-line shape and slightly longer shape, making it flattering for everyone. There was a period of time when i looked for jean skirts and all I could find were torn or too short styles.
This skirt is something I wear often, and styling is easy. You can wear anything with denim. Florals are and I think always will be popular in the Spring, and they are some of my favorite prints to wear. I found this top with its peaches, lavendar, yellow and blue colors on Poshmark, from Anthropologie. If you hadn’t learned about the thrift site, Poshmark, you can HERE. I paid a whopping $15 dollars and it looked hardly worn. i usually filter and save certain stores, and Anthropologie is one I enjoy shopping for on Poshmark.
This top, like the lemon top I wore , which can be worn both off the shoulder or on. It has a flowy style and is very lightweight. That works for me!

I have owned so many denim skirts over the years and I why I ever get rid of them just baffles me because they never really go out of style. The next one I get I’m keeping – remind me of that one day, ok? Lol. I really like how you styled this and those BaubleBar earrings have caught my attention more than once! Your sweet angels are precious too – my Sophie is always close by watching us take photos – I say Shih Tzus are just the lost loving.
