25 Nov NYDJ Alina Skinny Coated Denim and Suede Moto
Morning friends!
NYDJ– Stands for Not Your Daughter Jeans. I was gifted a pair and chose these coated black Alina Skinny Jeans. I just love the leather-like look of these, and how you could dress them up for the Holidays.
If you haven’t heard about NYDJ, then I am here to introduce you
They were founded in 2003, in Los Angeles, with the goal of designing jeans for women of all sizes and shapes. They are a company started by women for women designed to find the perfect fitting jean. They have jeans in Petite, Plus and Regular. The desire was to create a jean that women would find flattering and fit well.
Lift Tuck Technology
“All NYDJ jeans are made with Lift Tuck® Technology, our proprietary slimming panel with a patented criss-cross design to flatten in the front and curve-contouring construction to flatter curves in the back, so you look, feel and wear a size smaller.” from website.
So you end up with a flattering look and bum!
My Look
I did try a pair of shoes and then booties with this outfit. With the black sandals, I added lace socks for a more interesting look and to play on the lace top. Then, I wanted to combine texture and take the colors from the Marc Fisher jacquard booties I am wearing. Which shoes do you prefer?
I styled a Zara black lace top with a high neckline with my Nordstrom Blank NYC burgundy moto jacket. The croc clutch added another nice textured touch to the look. The jeans are a skinny jean and I like the lightness of the material with the added stretch. They have some stretch, but not so much that they would look baggy by the end of the day. Looking through the website, NYDJ recommends that you size down in all of their jeans because of the Lift Tuck technology. My usual size in denim is a size 4. I went with a 2 in these jeans. For reference, I am 5 foot 9, and 122 pounds.
I chose the coated denim as I had plenty of blue denim styles in my wardrobe. I wanted a pair of dressy jeans that I could wear out for an evening.
NYDJ has a selection of blouses, pants, and jeans. I love too that they have more trendy pairs like these animal print jeans and colored denim. If I were to try them again, I would be interested in these Sure Stretch Ami jeans as they state that they are “ultra-soft” and I am always wanting that description in my jeans.
They have styles ranging from bootcut to straight, skinny and trouser styles.
Weekend Fun
We spent Sunday getting some of the Holiday decorations from the attic. I do love to decorate! I have to take breaks putting ornaments on the tree, but hubby and I have a system. I bought this garland from Target, and love the woodsy look! Our tree and decor have turned “woodland” as we have all of these woodland animals we began to collect from Asheville, years ago, gold and pinecone decorated burlap ribbon around the tree, and plaid old fashioned themed Christmas pillows on the couch.
We also went to see a play called, “The Play That Went Wrong”. And boy did it! My hubby thought I would love it, as there was much slapstick humour among castmates and I used to laugh out loud as a kid watching Jack, from Three is Company, trip off the couch!! So, slapstick humour gets me every time!
It was so funny and a little girl behind us has a very tiny laugh- tee, hehe, that it made us laugh! My dad used to have a boisterous laugh that was contagious!
Don’t worry I have my jacket on – just wanted to show the top in
new leather-like earrings – they are so light! These are similar
Have you tried #NYDJ? What style do you prefer? Make sure to check out their Holiday Shop!
