18 Jun Turning Heads Linkup – Olive Jersey Midi Dress for Summer
Happy Turning Heads Tuesday friends!
I can’t believe it is mid-June already, but that does mean we are a bit closer to our beach vacation in July. Outer Banks, Baby!
I may just bring this dress with me – packing it for a casual and comfortable day at the beach. This modal material is silky soft and it is an easy dress to wear. I love dresses in the summer and tend to love gold jewelry with neutral looks, adding warmth to the outfit.
I’d first like to say that because of the family visit and how busy I have been I haven’t been able to make all my blog rounds lately. This weekend, things will be slowing down a bit and I’ll be back to my schedule so, I will make it to visit your blog soon!
Am I allowed to say I’m tired? I have enjoyed visiting in Harleysville, going to parades, out to eat, etc, and then hosting my mom in Charlotte as well. Mom is leaving Thursday and has spent 3 weeks here, in which part of the time my sis and niece have visited. We have been hitting the town! We did have fun though, just having pizza one night, a few glasses of vino and letting go dancing to Queen! My sister, neice and I got up in the living room and just let loose! She loves to sing and I love music and dancing. It’s tough, as with EDS, the next day my legs and hips were killin me, but sometimes I have to sacrifice in order to just enjoy life.
I do like to show family and guests a good time! We have been to The Cottage ( wine bar), out to brunch at two fancy restaurants in both Uptown and South Charlotte, as I just love sitting and eating outside. We saw a Grammy Nominated artist, Arie Heast, who has performed with Judy Collins at a house concert, went to Daveste Vineyards to enjoy a picnic and the day, and last night went to hear Star Wars compositions at the outdoor Symphony in South Park. We have had a blast! Mom has had some fun! I really do like to share good times with mom as my Dad is not here. It’s been 3 years and it isn’t easy. We do have a pretty tight family though, which helps.
We tend to do photo shoots and make an afternoon of it, by going out to eat or drink. On this afternoon, I had my Mammo appt, and we thought we would take advantage of being out in Mooresville, this small town USA street with its mom and pop stores and charm. Passersby wanted to know what we were doing, as I then stop and chat a bit… Over 50 blog, I say, and am slightly embarrassed being on a public street. I do get over the embarrassment quickly, as my hubby and I have the photography down to a bit of a science. My 4-5 poses, and his framing after 5 yrs of blogging has become a bit easier.
I know I have talked about Mango, a mid-priced on-line store, with many classic and on-trend fashions. I have LOVED their Spring 2019 collection, having eyed many pieces that fit my taste. I’ve had fun this year revamping my Spring and Summer wardrobe, adding new dresses and blouses to my closet, as I gave bags of items I was no longer interested in to Goodwill.
This dress, which caught my eye with its simplicity, button detail in the front and tie around the waist, was another neutral look I loved. The modal material is so soft! Olive is one of my favorite colors, and my round rattan bag has been worn frequently already this summer. If you missed my neutral look from yesterday, read the post- Linen Shirtdress with Neutral Accessories.
