Olive Summer T-Shirt Dress Styled with Silk Floral Scarf

Good Morning ladies

You have seen me style a tee shirt dress before in several posts. This one is very comfortable and I love the olive shade. The pencil skirt style is also flattering. As we eventually turn to Fall, this would be a style of dress I could layer and style for cooler weather. Its still summer, however, and when the heat is on, I love wearing strappy sandals and dressing up the look a bit. I will also address how I would style this dress for Fall.

I first started with this dress by Karina, and with its light striped pattern, the color is a neutral and works well with another soft floral pattern with this lavendar floral scarf. I had a pair of earrings from Mango, these straw circular button earrings are from Mango, and i loved the idea of replicating the shape of my straw bag. This bag, purchased on Poshmark, has already been worn quite frequently and I love it with neutral or tropical looks.

Dressing it Down

Dressing down a tee shirt dress such as this, can be as easy as wearing a pair of converse or white sneakers, instead of sandals, and perhaps a denim jacket if you are in a place with air conditioning Add some statement jewelry and viola! you are done.

Dressing it for Fall

I know it is hard to think about Fall, when ( in my mom’s words) You are “sweating putty balls”, temps are in the 90s and Starbucks hasn’t released their Pumpkin Spiced Lattes yet! But… Layering this dress for Fall is another way of getting more for your money and from your closet. Think of the dress as your base, add a long cardigan in any shade ( olive is neutral) but I do love Autumn colors, so I may add a brown cardigan duster. Add some stylish booties, a scarf and tights and there you have a fall look.

I could also wear this dress, add a turtleneck or thin long sleeve shirt underneath ( pullover) and layer this way.

Another possibility would be wearing a jacket. I love moto jackets, tweed jackets etc. Layer a jacket over the dress, textured tights and boots and you have a visually interesting outfit.

Think about what pieces you already have in your closet that can be worn through the seasons.

We were back to Freedom Park in Charlotte for this shoot, and used the suspension bridge as the location. I love exploring various areas of the city!

Are you starting to think of transitioning your wardrobe for Fall? How can you make the most out of your closet ?
