14 May The Ease of a T-shirt Dress for Spring

Good morning ladies!

I hope you enjoyed a wonderful Mother’s day weekend! If you missed post, Florals for Mother’s Day, have a read ;-0) My mom is in Pittsburgh, so we weren’t able to spend time together, but she will be visiting soon. i sent her a necklace and card, and my siblings were going in on a Spa gift. This weekend was HOT! We had a heat wave here in the South, and the real feel was about 95! We did, however, spend Saturday at West bend Vineyards, a new stop for us, and brought the pups. We were hesitant, but found a Pargola to sit under, providing much needed shade, not to mention lots of water was on hand! I am talking about the ease of a t-shirt dress today, as one of those outfits that are so easy to wear and style and perfect for a hot day. I wore this dress to the vineyard, with a change of shoes for a more casual look.

Sometimes in Charlotte, we  tend to skip Spring entirely! Fortunately, this year we were able to experience some cooler temps and this week it will cool down a bit to something a bit more bearable. I did buy some new makeup at Sephora, ( its hard to not act like a kid in a candy store ! an expensive one!) as I wanted my makeup in pictures to last longer throughout the day and was quite pleased with what I bought. Just a hint, it is a powder, and I will be posting about my makeup favorites and routine in another post soon.  If you missed my skin care routine and post, click HERE. 

The T-Shirt dress I wanted something easy and cool to wear to the Vineyard, no jeans, as i don’t know how ladies wear denim when the heat and humidity is on the rise. This dress, by Leota, is also a wash and wear, no-wrinkle material, and I love the blue budded print and side tie that added to its charm. For the shoot, i wore my JAMBU Rio sandals in taupe, a cushioned, light sandal that will go with so many things this spring/summer.I dressed it up more than usual for this post, but will style it in more of a casual way in the future.  My braided bag is Rebecca Minkoff from Poshmark.

Does a t-shirt dress sound too casual for you? Or you aren’t certain what to do with it?

When it is too warm to do anything but wear the dress, it is all about accessories and changing shoes. However, if there is coolness in the air and you want another layer- t-shirt dresses are perfect for this reason.

Wear a fun pair of embroidered or striped espadrilles to amplify your look. Love these and these!

Add color with a pair of slides.

Wear the ‘ready-made’ athleisure style, but wearing your t-shirt dress with slip on sneakers or converse sneakers.

The Safari look is big this spring/summer. Wear a neutral t-shirt dress with some fun accessories, like a utility jacket and straw bag.

The closet ‘must have’ denim jacket is the perfect accompaniment with a t-shirt dress. Try a pearl adorned one, or slightly cropped for variety.

Its a great time to take our your white denim jacket . Wear it with your t-shirt dress and add some colorful touches with some tassle earrings.

Kimonos are big this season, try a longer kimono over your dress for added pattern and to keep cool in the evening.

i like the ease of the t-shirt dress and have a few in my closet. Think of it as a base layer and have fun with styling!
