29 Jan Pantone Color of the Year 2021
*
Each year I like to share with my readers the Pantone color of the year. This year, there are 2 shades that work harmoniously together, and they are Ultimate Grey and Illuminating, a bright yellow.

Pantone Colors of the Year
These colors are used in many facets of our lives- from fashion, to accessories, to home interior design and other businesses.
Chosen by the Pantone Institute, these colors are a reflection of what will be seen then on the runway, in homes and in graphic arts and design/business.
Color has always evoked emotion, feelings brought forth with such colors.
As mentioned in this post, Stand Out and Wear Red, this color is a color of confidence, passion, ambition and determination.
What feeling does the color bright yellow evoke?
Pantone chose this color for a feeling of “friendliness” “sunny” and “hopefulness.”
A brighter future perhaps.
Grey is a solid oolor, and neutral, a color that blends well with most any color and has a resilient and strong characteristic.
These colors brought together, signify to be, strength and hope, a brightness and light.
So fitting for this time.
I love greys and yellows in a decorating standpoint as well. Have a grey couch? Add some vibrant yellow pillows to brighten the look.

Now there is no grey here, but this summer look could have blended these Pantone colors together with my “Illuminating” yellow Zara top and a grey bag, or a grey pair of sneakers.
Tips to Wearing the Pantone Colors-
This bright yellow works well with my ginger red hair but if you aren’t sure, try out the color/s in a smaller way.
Accent pieces like a scarf, a pair of earrings or a bright shoe would be a fun way to experiment with this sunny color.
Since it is Winter, and blazers are always in fashion, a plaid grey blazer would be a great way to add this grey tone to your wardrobe. Try a yellow thin belt to blend these 2 colors together.
Try the Ultimate Grey as your basic fashion foundation color, great for ladies with silver, white hair and cool tones as well. Add the “Pop” of color, yellow with a fun bag or shoes. Then you don’t have to worry about it near your complexion!
An all grey monochromatic look with a touch of yellow with an accessory is another great option.
I hope this gave you some ideas!
How will you use these Pantone Colors of 2021 in your wardrobe? Would you style these together? Do you prefer them in your home?
Tell me in the comments 🙂
Have a great weekend!

Posted at 12:35h, 31 JanuaryYou are way ahead of me, Jess. I haven’t even looked at the colors yet. Ha, ha. These do make a pretty duo, although I am not sure how many women will actually be able to pull off either of these colors. You do it very well, my dear. I do especially like the grey and yellow in the home decorating scheme. Thanks for giving us a sneak peak at what is coming down the pike. – Amy

Posted at 15:24h, 29 JanuaryI’m hoping with yellow being one of the Pantone colors of the year, I can finally find a couple of yellow tops this year. It’s not a great color on me, but with the tips I’ve gathered from following fashion bloggers over the last year, I think I can make them work. Your two outfit examples are really lovely.

Posted at 05:04h, 29 JanuaryIt’s awesome that yellow evokes feelings of hope – we all need that more than ever! I don’t own much yellow but I do like it. Just seems there isn’t always much of it in stores. That will change this year!
Have a great weekend my friend!
