Pantone’s Spring Colors 2015

IMG_6642Hello Ladies,

My alternate title was “Pantone’s Colors for Spring 2015” , so I will be discussing this along with my new shoes :-))..Spring has been on the mind of use as consumers, and has been on the mind of retailers since , what.. about Dec-Jan?

IMG_6644IMG_6647IMG_6653IMG_6657IMG_6658IMG_6659IMG_6660

I was thinking about what colors are going to show up on the runways and what colors I need to add to my wardrobe for spring, as I have bought a few pieces here and there, since retailers begin the spring season much sooner than it actually begins. I went to Pantone’ s site to see what the color forecast was like for spring. I do have alot of pink, some yellow, orange, natural tones, which seems to be more of the theme this year. Nature and soft colors.  Pastels are still  “in” with baby blue hues, and pale pinks, creamy yellows .Click on each of the colors below to see Pantone’s color examples.

What I needed more of, when I scoped out the section I deem “spring/summer” in my closet, is space.  Ah, ok, my mind wandered… yes, I would love one of those ‘celebrity closets.” The kind you could actually live in. But, where was I? Talking about what I could use more of in terms of color, in my wardrobe. Blues. Lots of Blue Hues. I have incorporated in my look today, the neutral grey, along with some of the various colors  Pantone mentions in the blue hues. For example, with my Kate Spade quilted handbag, Pantone calls Pastel blue (Dusk Blue)  and the steel blue of my chiffon cardigan slightly darker than the blue shades offered. My grey sweater dress showing this Pantone’s shade ( Titanium) I have assessed my closet and realized I needed to add more of the blue hues.! Along with blue, I actually do not have alot of greens. You think I would as in the fall , I have my fair share. When it comes to spring and summer, I am missing out on the kelly green  ( Pantone’s             Treetop) and could use more olive green, Pantone’s (woodbine   ). So, I have been scanning Ebay and some of my other favorite shopping sites.

My new shoes, are shoes with bows! These J Crew grey heels ( a one inch block) are perfect for year round, and I seem to be gravitating toward feminine colors and shoes with details, like bows!

Lastly, This is a great way to get started in what colors you might add to your spring wardrobe. In addition to writing down pieces you may desire, such as a fitted white jacket, or a floral scarf, write down colors you would like to have for the upcoming season. It’s not that you need all of the colors, just a fun guide to perhaps help you choose what designers are going to be showing, and which tones may work best for your skin tome.

So, here is the link for you , peruse it, study it, envelope it into your consciousness.

This season there is a move toward the cooler and softer side of the color spectrum. An eclectic, ethereal mix of understated brights, pale pastels and nature-like neutrals take center stage as designers draw from daydreams of simpler times. Remembrances of retro delights, folkloric and floral art, and the magical worlds of tropical landscapes restore a sense of well-being as we head into warmer months.

Many feel compelled to be connected around the clock because we are afraid we’ll miss something important. There is a growing movement to step out and create ‘quiet zones’ to disconnect from technology and unwind, giving ourselves time to stop and be still. Color choices follow the same minimalistic, ‘en plein air’ theme, taking a cue from nature rather than being reinvented or mechanically manipulated. Soft, cool hues blend with subtle warm tones to create a soothing escape from the everyday hustle and bustle.

Leatrice EisemanExecutive Director, Pantone Color Institute®

Or… just have fun thinking of the colors you might buy and coordinate this upcoming season.

Have a great day and think of all of the fun you will have paring some of these colors if you desire for the season!

I’m pleased blue is ‘in’ as I certainly have a lot of it in my wardrobe! I’ve always liked blue and grey together too, this is a very pretty combination on you and I like the embellishment on your cardi 🙂

I don’t have much green in my wardrobe either – not really a colour I’m fond of, I don’t wear it often and only have a couple of green pieces!
