Ok, Blush and cobalt seem to be the colors of the season. Ann Taylor, one of my favorite shops began their spring season with a lot of blush:skirts, tops, dresses, etc.I love it and am quite excited about it. I do think with blush, depending on your coloring, that you may want to add a stronger contrast, or a colorful scarf. I choose to wear black. I am a fan of peplum tops, if the waist hits me in the right place, and this one did. I love the colorblock of the black and blush, a light, feminine color against the strong versatile color of black. ( or is it non-color?) It looks like it could be a dress, but they are seperates, a top and skirt.

The skirt I loved when I saw it, although I thought it was going to be a heavy material, the way it can look in some pictures. It is a crepe material, light comfortable, and very versatile. So glad I could wear it this day, as the weather may actually hit the upper 60s by the beginning of April.

Top: Ann Taylor, ( similar), Skirt currently at Ann Taylor, shoes, Sofft sandals, earrings: ( antique silver and pearl from Etsy).

I wish we had Ann Taylor here in Germany. Beautiful look, Jess. I love to see you in peplum tops, they are great for your figure!
I am glad you can enjoy lovely spring weather – we had a sudden snowfall of 40cm (!) yesterday but luckily temperatures are increasing and it should be gone very soon to make way to the blossoming trees and flowers again.

    Hugs,

Thank you Annette. I can’t wait to hear how things went with you. It is funny Europe has alot of shops in which I say the same thing 🙂 I do like peplum tops, it depends on the material, as some can be cheaply made or some do not hit where they are supposed to on my body. This one was a steal, and the skirt is part of their new spring collection.I do wear a lot of Ann Taylor, wish they would take notice 🙂 I am sure you will be back to nice sunny weather soon. xo Jess

Very nice Jess. Love the skirt and you’re right, with the peplum top it’s so pulled together it looks almost like a dress. Very trés chic.

Thank you. You are sweet. It actually is a skirt and a peplum top I paired. I loved the skirt and saw great potential. These gladiator shoes have about a 1 inch wedge as I need cushioning and stability, thank you.. yes, been tall since 7th grade 🙂 Appreciate the comment 🙂 You know I love how you dress!

Love that black peplum. And you couldn’t have paired it with a better skirt. It’s like they’re made to be worn together <3

By the way, I have a new post up. I'd love to hear your thoughts on it: http://fashchronicles.blogspot.com/2014/03/dressed-up-casual.html

Thank you! I am fan of the blush color, you will see more. Y’all are very observant with the nail polish. Yes, I have been using some pastel colors by Essie. 🙂

As always Jess, you look amazing! This is a great look! So chic and versatile! I definitely would have done as you have here – used black to contrast the pale blush color. I’m a huge fan of black and paired with blush, I think it adds an extra level of sophistication to the whole look. Love!

Thanks Mary. I loved the skirt and had the peplum in my wardrobe, I do like the combo of peplum and a pencil skirt. Big fan of the blush color. Thanks so much. The only thing I would have done is add a blush heel with bows, but can’t wear heels so , these gladiators were lovely to.

Thank you Patti! and your kitty cat is so cute 🙂 I am a fan of blush, so you may see a few more outfits with this color. THe skirt was not a stiff pencil skirt, but rather a crepe soft skirt. Thank you for the comment L-)

    Hi Jess,
what a lovely skirt and peplum top.I love those two colours to. Right now I´m also thinking about buying a peplum top, but I haven`t found one yet I really like. Yours is perfect, but I don´t think, we have this brand in Europe.I also like your nail polish. Have a nice week, Jess.

Thank you. Funny, I am finding alot of shops I like in Europe! I occasionally shop for tops on Ebay so you may be able to come across a peplum there. Dorothy Perkins has some, and then check Amazon, as I saw some there. I can picture you in a lovely royal blue. Have a good week as well!
