Hello Ladies
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. It really warmed up here going from 70 to 85 degrees, when we were at Silver Fork winery, a lovely winery near South Mountains in NC.
Do you think I was born with a Silver spoon in my mouth? LOL. No, I came from a middle class family in PA. However, today I came with a Silver Fork. Silver Fork Vineyard that is!!
The wonderful thing is that there are about 130 vineyards to visit in NC and SC. I love day trips where we can experience the views, the scenery, and of course, wine tasting! Many of our NC wines are often stereotyped as being too sweet, as we have the Scuppernog and Muscadine grape, both which tend to be sweet, even more so than a Riesling. However, there are many other vineyards and wines in the NC region that are quite delicious, and the Silver Fork Chardonnay we had here was just one of those. Crisp, medium bodied, flavorful and dry, some of my favorite combinations, my husband and I enjoyed a bottle admist this landscape and with our puppies, Gibson and Truffles.
This is one Vineyard that gladly enjoys the presence of pups on their property. The owners, the wife a chemistry major, ( great for wine making) and her husband have 7 dogs of their own, many of them rescued. Wow! I thought my two kept me busy
We stopped at a restaurant called Root and Vine, in Morgonton, NC, about an hour and a half drive from our house. We both ordered the same, a salmon sandwich with greens, with a side of cucumber salad. Healthy and fresh for our lunch at the vineyard.
Today I was looking to wear a solid color, as I have so many prints for my spring wardrobe, I thought, I am ready for some simplicity when it came to dressing. I loved this lavender color of this Ann Taylor dress, and the cowl neck and design attracted me to it. Since it was 85 degrees, I needed to dress light, and I decided to go with a somewhat minimalistic look with the complimentary color of steel blue silver drop earrings,a new long tassel silver necklace and nude gladiator Sofft sandals. The monochromatic style with my Coach lilac bag added to the finished look.
We enjoyed the scenery, our lunch, and talking to the owners. I think if we could conquer a new vineyard each weekend if we wanted to!
Have a great day!

April 13, 2015 at 6:21 pmHi Jess, Looks like you had a lot of fun there at the winery. I just did a post today on our visit to Sonoma. Thanks for visiting me. I did live in Charlotte, but we moved to Northern CA last October. We still have our home in the foothill mountains (until it sells, that is) near the NC/SC border. Lots of little wineries around there. You are right, it is a wonderful area. So beautiful.
