Styling Fall Layers Casually

Today I’m styling Fall layers casually, for an easy look to put together.

Styling a Fall Look Casually

Most of these pieces, you may already own in your closet. Leopard, whether “they” say it’s trending or not, has been a Fall favorite for years. I have plenty of leopard pieces in my closet, but recently acquired this fitted J Crew cardigan on Poshmark. Nonetheless, if you have a leopard sweater or cardigan, you can recreate this look. Other times I would wear this with high rise jeans, but today I wore it slightly unbuttoned and styled a black lace cami under it, primarily as I wanted layers, but also because these cargo pants are a bit lower rise. Here is a leopard cardigan by J Crew that is 60% off the sales price and I love the print!

Cargo pants are trending again, and once I again, these were something I have had in my closet for over 10 years. I like that they are cargos, but don’t have big bulky pockets on their side. Hubby on the other hand, looks for shorts and pants with deep pockets. You know, cell phone access if very important (in fashion! not!)  If you don’t have cargos, chinos or a relaxed fit neutral pant would look wonderful here too. Just make sure the fit is a bit relaxed, which will in turn, say “more casual.” Cargo pants aren’t meant to be tight! Slouchy, but not sloppy, I say!

Presently, in real life, the only pants I can wear are the soft modal pants I bought on Amazon, due to sensitivity from this condition. But I will get there!

I love the multi-layered look and will do so even more when the weather gets colder. Vests over a white button down and a blazer/trouser combo. So smart! Where I am I going though? Does it matter. I really wear what I want, with the exception of doctor’s appointments and Physical therapy.

For an added layer, I did wear my slightly oversized blazer from Mango. The Rag & Bone sneakers give it a more casual vibe as well.

Lastly, Bruno Magli makes himself known with these fits-just-right crossbody. I have larger bags but realize these days I prefer mid-sized to smaller.

What’s Happening?

Well, I have PFPT (pelvic floor PT) scheduled until the end of December with my current PT. Don’t know how long I will be going yet. I have learned valuable things in the process, even though my new PT does things a bit different that the older one. (which was a successful scenerio). I am learning to relax the pelvic floor, and reduce tension, diaphragmatic breathing is so important! I use you tube videos and will also allow myself space to relax and do breathing exercises. I have stretches as well to help the pudendal nerve. I won’t go into it all, but I am feeling some relief with the addition of the right cushion, (  Cushion Your Assets) PT, and the Gabapentin after 1.5 months.

Would you create this easy casual look for yourself? Tell me in the comments, Id love to hear from you!

Two great casual stylings, Jess! I am a fan of leopard print, and also think it is a timeless classic. Functional pockets are a big plus in my book, and I am glad cargo styles are once again becoming more available to purchase. Glad you are getting some relief with your PFPT and other techniques.!

Super cute look, Jess! I’ve grown fond of leopard. Initially I wasn’t sure. LOL! I am so glad you are starting to get some relief. It’s just so much work to be in constant pain.

Agreed! Leopard print is so timeless. I have a few that I have had for years and still wear today. The print really does look good, casual or formal. I am happy that cargo pants are back! I love them because I am obsessed with pockets! I am glad you are finding relief Jess. That’s such great news!
