Styling Teal Velvet for the Holidays with Faux Leather

Although I tend to wear red, green, black for the Holidays, sometimes it  is nice to mix it up. I am styling teal velvet for the Holidays paired with faux leather.

My Outfit

I am styling teal velvet for the Holidays, with this look and my faux leather pencil skirt. I just posted a reel about being “vintage” and some of my clothes would be considered this as well. I shopped my closet for this look, but will link up similar pieces. Velvet oh, velvet, how I love thee… let me count the ways~

  • Its such  luxe looking fabric
  • Adds instant glam factor to your look
  • Can be worn throughout Fall and Winter, not just for special occassions
  • Elevates a look, even casually
  • The depth of color you acheive with velvet is beautiful

What I love about the Fall and Winter months in terms of fashion, is there are so many tactile textiles ( you like that?) that you can create a very interesting look, very dimensional.

This blazer is years old, as is the necklace, but I love the two together. I aim for more delicate necklaces now, but still gravitate toward these jeweled favorites at certain times.

The gold ball drop earrings remind me of ornament balls, so I had to!

The faux leather pencil skirt is from Ann Taylor and again I have had in my closet for years. Always a classic, pencil skirts look so refined to me.

Teal is just such a gorgeous jewel tone, so if you love jewel tones but want something other than the traditional ruby red or emerald green, give teal a try .

I added the pine green bag to go with this look and add a beauitful contrast. The fun textured tights add more pattern to the look. ( At the present, I can’t wear tights due to PN, but did so for the photoshoot! 🙂 What I will do for fashion!

Christmas Happenings

It has been nice doing various Christmas activities around Charlotte, and I am thrilled that I am not going to have to travel this year. Since my brother, sister in law, sister and  I are here, my mom is now visiting here as well for the Holidays. This past weekend we went to Camp Northend, another Christmas Market with food, drinks, firepits, small business vendors and music. I just love it! It gets you in the Holiday mood! We have been bopping around each weekend doing all things Christmas, and I look forward to our annual tradition of driving around and looking at the neighborhood’s Christmas lights. Since I can’t sit long, it will be a shorter viewing that last year, but it is a compromise. I often put what we are doing on Instastories, so if yu don’t follow me, I would love if you did so HERE.

Do you prefer colors other than the traditional red, black , green during the Holidays? Do you love velvet? Let me know in the comments.

I do like a different color combination for the season and this teal velvet is just incredible.
