Stylish Monday – The Ladies are Styling Spring

Mother Nature? Did you hear me? It is officially Spring, according to our calendar, and I expect some sun! Well, I try. It is slowly creeping its way here, isn’t it? Well, for today’s sake, our Stylish Monday ladies, including myself, styled what we think of as Spring.

Ok. I know what you are thinking. Time for some weeding! I saw these pics and thought, the weeds are what the ladies are going to notice, but gardening is quite a physical task! Its on the list, that and mulching for the Spring season. We have bags of red mulch to make our yard more appealing and to detract from the crabgrass!

Dress Season

Time for dress season! I love jeans( they have grown on me)  and will still wear jeans, because if you don’t, you won’t wear them until October, since it can still be 90 degrees here In September. I do find, however, that I love a light and airy dress as the weather warms up. Summer, I will wear mostly dresses and some jean shorts.

Today, I chose one of my Ann Taylor dresses from my closet. My Zara bag as a perfect match with it, as it has red, fuschia, green, and black in the dress. A match made in floral heaven! I do love florals but have expanded my Spring wardrobe to include more safari looks, linen, and neutrals, but today, it was about a pretty floral print.

I know, florals! For Spring? Who would have thought? Even though it is a bit cliche, I wanted to wear some of my dressier floral dresses this season. My tastes have changed, though, so I have included not only florals, but checks, gingham, linen and solids for the upcoming seasons.. so don’t think I am predictable! 🙂 If you missed my Spring Wish List post on Friday, have a read you’ll see!

Brighter Days

I am thinking with Spring comes brighter days literally and potentially figuratively. I told my hubby I needed a break from my morning news, as all I seem to do is talk back or yell at the TV! Does anyone else do this? I don’t want my head in the sand, but at the same time, there can be so much negativity that it gets to me.

Spring makes me want to be outdoors, and it is warming up enough that I can be outside on our deck working on my blog! I love to feel the sunshine on my muscles and my doggies paws on my feet. I enjoy hearing the birds chirping and looking up at a bluer sky. It really affects my mood.

In April we have my hubby’s 5-0 Birthday and my Truffles’ 10th Birthday. And, I ordered cakes for both! I called this adorable doggy bakery, Three Dog Bakery, close to our house, and she will have a bone shaped peanut butter cake, all natural ingredients. We hope to ask a couple of the neighborhood pups up for the afternoon, Fun times! So, I’ll be sharing those bday events with you this month.

I love everything about this look Jess. The dress’s print really screams spring so does your cute handbag. Love the cut around the shoulders and the length is just right. I totally agree with you about watching TV news. My husband loves watching the news but all you hear is about violence or motor accident or drug overdose. It’s all so depressing. Would love to see the dog’s birthday cake, it will be my first 🙂 Have a lovely week

HI Anna! So glad you like the outfit. The bag went perfectly! I am adding many non florals to my Spring looks, but I do still love them. Peonies and poppies are some of my favorites. Oh, yes! I hope to post about my hubby’s 5-0 and Truffle’s Bday, we will get cake pics! xx

That’s a gorgeous dress, I love floral patterns and what better time to wear them than spring? The weather here has been really good actually, it seems like as soon as spring hit, the sun came out and the temperatures warmed up but sadly we’re getting rain this week and I’m already feeling cold (yesterday I wore a dress with no tights and now I’m wearing a knit sweater… oh well)

Thank you Marta! I know, we did have a few sunny days and this week a few rainy cold days.. I just like it when I can sit outside more. Glad you like the dress. xx

I’ll never get tired of florals for spring and your pretty dress is perfect for the season! Love the handbag too! Your mani looks fabulous! I painted my nails on Saturday night and by Sunday afternoon the color was peeling off! UGH!!!

Hi Kellyann, I know! I still love florals, but added other prints to this summer I am excited about. Funny about the mani, it is KISS in a baby pink color, I couldn’t resist! I know unless I get anything other than gel or dip powder, my nail polish comes off! xx
