17 Sep Teal Dress for Special Nights Out
Hello Ladies
Here we are, my date night, wedding reception, all around dinner date kind of dress. I initially bought it for my brother Matt’s wedding last year, as I was struck by the style of the dress, how it accentuates the waist, and the teal blue color. Some of you liked my hair up when I wore it this way to Charleston, so I hope you continue to like it up in this post, thought it would give it a dressier feel.
This is a dress from Kay Unger, a designer from NYC. I found it online after going back to look at it many times! We all do that right?? I wore it to my brother’s wedding last Sept and it was a hit. We had an amazing time! So, when we decided to go to the restaurant and Jazz Club tonight, in Uptown Charlotte, a place called, Blue, I thought this would be the perfect dress for the occassion!
I also want you to take note of several things. I don’t wear my hair up that often, but like to change it up a bit on occasion. Two, this will be the closest to my face y’all may ever get! 🙂 Let’s just say I am a little self conscious if the photographer gets any closer 🙂
My husband and I tend to go into Uptown for an occasion, as I wonder if I am the only one, to stay within our comfort zone. You know the zone where you stay within a 15 mile radius of your house to go out. I think we know most of the restaurants and wine bars in the vacinity, after living here for 10 years. When I lived in Pittsburgh, if you went out, you went Dawntawn..( pronounced dahn-tahn), as Pittsburgers would have it. Here, we were a bit confused as Charlotteans call the area, “Uptown”, as perhaps it is perceived in association with other words, “Upscale” “Upside”, ” Uptight” ( just kidding!), I have no idea what is up or down anymore!
Anyhow, hope you like this combination of teal and black , with a teal necklace from Jewel Box, a local boutique, and the earrings my gift from our Charleston trip. I paired it with the purse from Kate Spade, and my black kitten heels.
