Hello friends
Happy Halloween! Some Halloween decor was the best I could do this year. I have been recuperating from the Asheville trip, so I will look forward to seeing your costumes if you dress up. I had dry needling yesterday and didn’t want to really dress up as the human pin cushion . We did have so much fun as kids though, as my mom made all of our costumes. So, since there are no tricks this year, I decided to bring you a “Treat” and introduce you to a Luxury accessories brand out of the UK, BLACK.
When I was approached by BLACK about reviewing their luxury accessories, I was in! I have wanted to add some key pieces and fabrics to my fall wardrobe, one of them being cashmere. I was looking to add a few cashmere sweaters, so when I saw this beautiful grey tartan 100% cashmere poncho, I knew it would make a perfect stylish addition to my Fall wardrobe. So soft and chic!
I also loved the fact that the company has a passion for luxurious fabrics, quality materials and customer service. I loved hearing this as I fear customer service, in this day and age, does not take priority. For me, adding a personal touch, makes it that much more special.
“Our cashmere, silk, leather, linen and cotton are all carefully sourced and expertly crafted into classic and contemporary styles. From the softest cashmere scarves and shawls from Italy, Scotland and Kashmir to buttery soft nappa leather gloves from Italy; we buy only the best. We believe in luxury that lasts, not fashion that fades.”
Black is an acronym for the company, which was founded in 2006, standing for Black Luxury Accessories Crafted and Keenly Priced. Black looks often to family businesses and relationships that can grow and thrive when choosing their fabrics and materials.
The company was inspired by a trip to India, where the discovery of making handcrafted, luxurious pashima ring shawls, became the impetus in creating the cashmere ring shawl that the company finds as its cornerstone. To read more about the company click HERE. BLACK works with many family owned companies in which various skills have been passed down through generations.
As you all know, I am a fan of accessories, and how they can transform a look. My style often includes vintage jewelry, bright colors, and quality made bags. As I have mentioned, on my wish list for my Fall wardrobe this year, was cashmere and silk. As I perused the website, I came across the Cashmere Poncho selection and was quite excited.
Let me also point out that I was impressed with the pinstripe cloth dust bags the garments came in, an excellent way to store your cashmere pieces.
Plaid is timeless, and this grey tartan plaid poncho in 100% cashmere looked like the perfect piece to add to my wardrobe. Very soft, crafted in Italy, the dark and light grey pattern caught my eye. The poncho’s weight adds to the comfort and coziness of the garment, and is complementary to my faux leather leggings and black leather booties. I love the weight of this poncho and the elegant draping.
I styled this look with a black column structure, wearing a black wrap top by Banana Republic, Ann Taylor black leggings with black chunky heeled boots. The drape is beautiful, and the poncho is outlined in a darker grey trim. I added pops of color with my vertical velvet earrings in emerald, ruby and sapphire shades. More Fall tones were added with my burgundy brooch and plum Treesje leather satchel.
BLACK carries a variety of men’s and women’s luxurious accessories for Fall. Why not “Treat” yourself? Some of the items they carry are women’s cashmere and leather gloves, the cornerstone-cashmere ring shawls, ponchos, jewelry, handbags and scarves among others. Men can choose from silk scarves and ties, luxurious hats, cashmere and leather gloves and more. There is also a gift section, some great price points for the Holidays.
And very timely, there is this fun skull and crossbones cashmere ring shawl, you need to check out!
Please do check out Black’s GIFT section as well for the upcoming season. I will be bringing you more from this company in the future. Here are some of my other favorites luxury accessories from the website:

October 31, 2017 at 11:39 amYou’re very right, Jess, so many clothing companies have adopted the fast fashion approach when it comes to QC and the vast majority of us prefer to adore couture brands from afar. It is indeed very refreshing when an independent line displays such commitment to luxury, whilst keeping prices affordable. I suspect you’ve found a treasure in BLACK, if that poncho is anything to go by xo

October 31, 2017 at 9:37 amLoving that poncho! and your outfit is tres chic and relaxed … always an abundance of fashion inspiration from you and your guests. I’ve missed visiting – it’s been challenging keeping up with everything as I go through the separation – country house on market – transitioning myself and doggies- preparing city home for full time living and keeping Resilientista magazine moving forward … oh the emotional roller coaster that goes with it all… BUT!!! I’m moving forward be it at a snail’s pace at times … I’m moving forward!!! – the best is yet to come !! Would love to have you share a winter outfit in the winter issue , let me know … hugs my friend! Celia
