The Lady Jacket- A Classic Piece That Elevates

Today I am styling The Lady Jacket. I gave you some examples and shopping options with Friday’s post.

Lady

“Luck be a lady tonight”..

“Lady, when you’re with my I’m smiling.”

“LadyI’m your knight in shining armor and I love youYou have made me what I am”

Coming from a music background, I had to include a small snippet of music that used “Lady” in the lyrics. There are MANY. Where you familiar?

The Lady Jacket

Now, the lady jacket may also have familiarity in common. Various materials, tweed, boucle, wool and others make up a lady jacket.

A rounded neck, no collar, and buttons are other characteristics. I was looking at my Fall closet and I have a few that are tweed with gold buttons. This is a new addition and comes in several colors. You can find it HERE.

I liked the design, and the classic style, as I am leaning more towards these pieces these days. You may be where you want pieces that are going to be more classic and stand the test of time in your wardrobe. This would be one of those. I’ll be sharing on “Reels” this week several ways to wear “The lady jacket”.

As I mentioned Friday, you don’t have to be turned away, thinking its only for the prim and proper!  Dichotomies in fashion, to me, are always interesting and it keeps you from styling something one way all of the time.

Here is a more ladylike version with my cream textured lady jacket and silk skirt. The skirt is fabulous and so reasonable! I actually have it in 3 colors. The champagne colors is one of my favorites especially with a winter white. This skirt is silk and washable!  Keeping it modern, I added my metallic gold snakeskin boots to the look. Remember, keeping the jacket up to date, is adding that modern element. Metallics are showing in the fashion world, big time now, and if you wanted to take this into the Holiday season, add a wonderful pair of gold heels or sandals.

Perhaps you would like to wear the jacket with a pair of faux leather trousers, or a long denim maxi. These are pieces that are modern, on trend and would be a great mix. Jeans with a lady jacket would also elevate the look. Try a new cut of jeans like a straight leg or even wide leg for contemporary style. I also added my Teddy Blake satchel, which shape gives off a more lady-like feel. Here is another classy looking bag for a great price.

You don’t have to get a tweed version and think ” I have to pair it with a matching skirt.” Nope. Try something new!

in my LAST POST , I shared some shopping links of Lady Jackets there with different price points for you to shop, so you can go back and refer if you would like.

Are you a fan of the Lady Jacket? How might you style it? Tell me in the comments 🙂

Hey doll, I left a comment and then clicked and it disappeared. At the risk of repeating myself, I just want to say you look elegant, poised and the epitome of a lady. Love this look and the accessories. I have a tab open to check out your post sharing Lady Jackets at different price points. I am really on a budget so not sure there will be anything for me!! But a girl can dream. You are always perfection!!

Lady is right. You are the epitome of a fine lady. Elegant, poised. I love this look so much. I have a very similar slip skirt. Going to check out your earlier post with Lady Jackets at different price points. I have a boucle jacket in a multicolor tweed that is almost a Lady Jacket but it doesn’t have buttons. This look reminds me of the very chic Jackie Kennedy and of an aqua boucle suit my mama had in the 60s. You have accessorized perfectly. Great little bag and darling booties. Just perfection.

I love this ivory one, Jess. It’s funny because I have a bunch from years ago.
