03 Feb These Are a Few of My Favorite Things
( First line to be sung to, ” My Favorite Things” Melody”) 20’s hats and mulberry coats that are wa-arm, lovely lace vintage skirt that made me swa-arm, fleece lined boots, long black socks pa-ast my knees, cinnamon cardigan, hon, would you please?
This is the day before Thanksgiving and we are running around like a “turkey” (ahem) with its head cut off, we were able to get some shots at a lovely place that we go to near the lake when it is warmer. Today, Not so warm. But, as a waitress said after I had my hard boiled eggs benedict ( I like the eggs hard, and he doesn’t), ” I have never seen you in an outfit I didn’t like.” So, nice to hear from a stranger as it is not prompted by loved ones. That added fuel to the fire to get the shots taken, as it was getting colder here, and the wind was blowing, we found the spot appealing.. What I love about this skirt is the scalloped edges at the bottom, it looks vintage, and it has a peacock like pattern, with the grosgrain waist band it is win-win. I also don’t know what it is with me and hats lately. Granted I presently have 3, but I just love the 20’s flapper hats, via Gretchen Mol in Boardwalk Empire.
What are a few of your favorite things this time of year?? Hat: TJMaxx, Cardigan: Banana Republic , Skirt: Ann Taylor,( similar) Boots: Keen Bern, Handbag: Rebecca Minkoff , similar

Posted at 17:18h, 15 FebruaryHi Jess,
You look adorable in this outfit. I love the color on you, and your flaming red hair. I’m a huge fan of brighter colors on mature women because after 40 it is too easy to fall into a black rut. Good for you for having the confidence to pull this off. Cheers my fellow 40+ fashionista!

Posted at 19:39h, 05 FebruaryThank you so much. Believe me, I try. I use hot rollers as my hair is poker straight, I saw the skirt in Ann Taylor and the owner knows me, ( ah oh) and knew it was my style, so it became mine. I will look at your site soon! You too
