Thrifted Style- Cream Knit Dress

If you haven’t read my article on saving money in this economy, have a READ.

I’m talking about how I styled this cream knit dress I bought on Poshmark, today on the blog.

Hi, my name is Jess, and I have a slight obsession. I love sweater or knit dresses!

The nearly one and done factor, the coziness and ease of a sweater dress has always appealed to me.

Thrifted Style- Cream Dress

So you don’t want to wear sweatpants or loungewear, but you want to be as comfortable, and stylish? I say, go for a sweater or knit dress.

There are so many styles out there from fitted, to an oversized look, and more.

I have talked about Poshmark on the blog many times, so if you have not read about it, Have a read with this article here. I explain how to shop the thrifting site, and what it is. Another site, as you know, is Ebay, and I recently found a great buy on a Michael Kors puffer jacket for $40 shipped there. Poshmark is my go-to, and I find it easy to navigate if you put in the parameters, and also the brand name you are looking for as to not become overwhelmed with choices, and I am the type of lady that only wants 5 selections of nail polish colors at the nail salon!

Loving a textured look to a sweater or dress, this knit has a lovely cable knit and look, pockets! This is Rachael Zoe brand, and I just happened upon it while looking up “cream or ivory sweater dresses” in my size.

Pattern mixing is done subtly here with my plaid coat and leopard print kitten heels. The beauty of Winter styling is that you can layer, mix prints and have fun mixing it up as well. I am looking for a pair of tall cream-colored boots as the leg line is always extended when you have the same color in your dress to your toes. I wanted a change from boots, so since leopard is a neutral, and I enjoy pattern mixing I went with the heels. The pointed toe also elongates. So, my next thing to find thrifting is cream tall boots! ๐Ÿ™‚

What’s Happening?

How was your weekend friends? I hope you enjoyed it and were able to have some nice weather.

It was a busy weekend, and I have been active at the dog shelter. I love going there and the time passes by so quickly! I get the names of the dogs so easily, as I say goodbye to them by name as I am leaving! People names fly out of my brain as soon as they are uttered! Maybe if they had fur and a long tail I would remember better! LOL.

My mom and I went to an English Tea at the Ballantyne Hotel here in Charlotte. I have been dying to go to a Tea Room for the longest time! One of my first stops when we get to visit England. I am a tea lover, and always have a cup at night. I want to learn the “proper” way to make English tea!

Do you enjoy thrifting? Have you shopped on Poshmark or Ebay?

You look gorgeous in this sweater dress with the plaid coat. I think plaid and cable knit just goes together beautifully! I love a sweater dress, but I’m opting out of them for a bit as I don’t feel as comfortable in them. On our first visit to London, we had high tea at the Palm Court at the Sheraton Park Lane. It was delicious, but I had only ever had tea from a tea bag! I would have been embarrassed but our server was so kind and showed me how to do it. I learned there that American scones are just not the same as a good English scone!

I am not a thrifter for a few reasons, but I do sell on Poshmark and have bought and sold on eBay. I like the ease of Poshmark but feel like I have more control with eBay…if that even makes sense!

Thank you Marsha! Yes I have a bit of a “collection”. Oh, that sounds so wonderful, when we do get to visit England, that is a must stop! Ues, the scones for the English Breakfast were so light and flaky! Much better than the dense ones we tend to have. The one thing I like about Ebay is that some sellers offer returns, where you don’t have that option on Poshmark, so I ask for a lot of measurements there!
