THT- A Casual Romantic Look for Valentines Day

I am sharing a casual romantic look for Valentine’s Day today on the blog

My Casual Look

I gave a bit of history and poetry yesterday on the blog post- wearing traditional red for Valentine’s Day post. Maybe you are romantic but you don’t enjoy going out to meals that are a bit overpriced, crowded, and prefer a decadent meal at home with an excellent bottle of wine? We usually do stay home and celebrate in such a way, but this year we are going to Raylen Vineyards for their wine and truffle pairing. A great bottle of Cab and delicious chocolates; you don’t have to ask me twice!

This look will certainly fit the day. I received this silky chiffon tunic from Soft Surroundings a few years ago, and I just love the style and the beautiful rose shade.

Pairing it with my Spanx faux leather legging gives it a modern vibe and I added other plum tones to complete the look with my Italian leather boots and Treesje satchel. The details of the ruffled and braided style of the bag add to the romantic look.

Poem

And there is nothing like poetry to celebrate the day-

I wanted to share one of Valentine’s Day’s beautiful poems by Robert Browning.

The fountains mingle with the river,

And the rivers with the ocean.

The winds of heaven mix forever with a sweet emotion.

Nothing in the world is single,

All things by a law divine

In another’s being mingle– Why not I with thine? www.poemofquotes.com

La Casa

We have been thinking or (dreaming) about Spring here at my house and have ordered a new patio set and outdoor rug. I am also looking for some tall plants in planters to spruce up the area.

We have been looking at couches- mainly sectionals for our living room- and found out yesterday, it would be at least 6 months before it would arrive due to shipping delays! We just looking right now, but wow.

Beautiful dress for V-Day! I love the texture on the fabric and the color. Those booties seem to match the color of the dress well! Thank you for sharing that poem. 🙂 I love to read poetry when I have time.

I love that dusty rose color! So pretty for the holiday and more chic than a hot or baby pink.

    You always look lovely Jess!
I prefer to dress up for valentine’s Day but since it’s on a Monday I may stay home.
We’re having family over on Sunday for the Super Bowl so I may not want to eat out for Valentine’s Day.
    That vineyard sounds like fun!
I hope we can get together the next time I’m in Charlotte!

I love this outfit, Jess! When we were first married, Dan & I went out for Valentine’s Day, but them we realized that neither of us too keen to be out in the crowds, so now we just do whatever we feel like that date, which may mean no celebration at all. We tend to celebrate life and each other whenever the mood strikes.

After a lifetime of married life, Hubby and I usually stay in on V-Day. One of his favorite treats is a Dairy Queen ice cream cake and I always make sure he has one to enjoy on Valentine’s Day❤️

I love how romantic the blouse is. Such pretty detail. I think the boys and I will go to Nashville on the 14th and 15th so poor hubby will be all by his lonesome!

Casual all the way for me – but I guess I’d actually say a little elevated casual is my brand . My husband always says I am the most formal casual person he knows – ha!!
That poem is so sweet, great idea to include that and you look beautiful in this shade!

The embroidery on that tunic is so pretty and it’s such a nice colour on you! I hope you have fun on your date, it sounds like a nice way to spend the evening 🙂 We don’t really do Valentine’s day in Australia so as usual we haven’t planned anything special!

    Thanks for the link up!

Hope that your week is going well! So hot here with the heatwave!

We’re not big on doing much for Valentine’s Day but perhaps we should be!!

This dress is so gorgeous, Jess! I love all the lace and the color is stunning. It is so perfect with your ankle boots, too. And I love the contrast of pink lace against your black faux leather leggings. So good!

Very pretty Jess, beginning to look just a little Spring like where you are but we have a long way to go! We like to cook something a little special at home for Valentines Day, too many disappointments going out over the years – but your truffle and wine evening certainly sounds an exception. Can’t wait to read about it.

I hope I can celebrate Valentines Day with someone again someday, and if I do, I could be either fancy or casual. Probably fancy, for the first time it happens 😊. I adore that rose tunic! Ive seen so many lovely things from Soft Surroundings, but haven’t yet bought from them. Also do not yet have leather- look leggings but they are on my list! Your boots and especially your bag are divine! Thank you for posting that link to poems and other quotes, I’m going to browse through that! Do you like poetry Jess? I don’t read a lot of straight poetry, but I have liked anthologies where i can read poems from many different authors, and I’ve found many poems that I really love. xo, Joni
