THT- A Classic Camel and Black Look for Winter

One of my favorite pairings is what I am sharing today- a classic pairing of camel and black.

How is everyone? Aren’t you glad it is February! I mentioned that we have quite a few things planned this month and I am busy with the volunteer work at the dog shelter.( I have already fallen for Mr. Chuckles! )

I am also trying to build up my guitar business in addition to what I do here and IG, so keepin’ busy!

How was your weekend? We had a date night cocktail night and made use of our bar cart my mom gave us for Christmas a few years ago. I bought hubby a whiskey smoker and he is enjoying it, so made a smoked Old Fashion. I had an unsmoked PB & J, cocktail, which is Chambord and Screwball Peanut butter whiskey. One made me sleep like a baby!

This Classic Camel and Black Look for Winter

I mentioned on Reels that I went a bit crazy with these striped lady jackets and bought them in several colorways. I truly did not have many stripes to my wardrobe until last year, then I started adding this classic pattern.

Here are a few articles on stripes here on the blog:

Stripes a Classic Styled

Love Them or Not?

The Outfit

This lady jacket in camel and black striped in a great dupe for J Crew at a fraction of the cost, and this one is not quite as cropped as the J Crew. I am long waisted, so this is a great length for ladies that are or aren’t just coming down a little longer if you are short waisted. The material is soft and substantial, and fine for those Winters in the South as well.

Pairing this look with the high rise slip on black denim flares from Franne Golde, as well as tall black platform booties, makes for an easy look. The ones I am wearing are older, so these I have found as an alternative, and the heel isn’t killer!  I have also paired this cardigan with a slip dress and combats, for a fun different style.

Valentine’s Day is coming up, and we don’t go out for it, but rather share a wonderful meal and open a nice bottle of vino. So, if you aren’t one to dress head to toe in all red, or wear hearts, add a touch of red to your outfit. My handbag is vintage Prada, and I find the best places for this is Ebay and the Real Real.  Camel and red are such a smart combination, as camel is a neutral, but this combo is just classic.

This lady jacket or cardigan could be worn casually or dressed up. Stripes are classic and don’t go out of style. You can wear it as a sweater, or layer it with a button down or long sleeve tee for more warmth. A camisole or turtleneck is another alternative if you are looking to add layers. These jeans are fabulous, as they are high rise and are pull on, very comfortable with stretch and it’s nice to keep current with different styles or cuts of denim.

My camel jacket is from Mango a few years ago, so I have found a similar one at a great price. It is one of those pieces you will keep reaching for. Heck, I think it elevates a sweatsuit!

You look wonderful, so classy and stylish. This is always one of my favourite outfits, a good coat which importantly is lined so it hangs properly, not like some of the non-lined ones which are clingy, the colour is ideal too, I like your accessories well, a smart pair of leather gloves gives you the polished look.
