THT- A Classic Pattern with a Modern Twist- Stripes

Stripes. I bet you have this classic pattern in your wardrobe in some form or another. A breton tee, a striped tee shirt dress, maybe a button down?

A Classic Pattern with a Modern Twist- Stripes

When I wrote this post,  Love Them Or Not?  I gave a bit of background on stripes and when they were first worn in the Navy.

Large bold stripes so the Captain could see man overboard.

We all are familiar with prison garb.

Stripes cotton shirts are often affiliated with a French Style.

Today, I am wearing “stripes with a twist”. I picked up this cream and black colored dress on Poshmark, through Mango, my favorite store. When I spotted it secondhand, I knew it was coming home to mama!

It caught my eye when I wrote about it and gave it as an example of a stripe I would go for. I have added a few pieces over the years, and most of the time, it has to be a different design, rather than just horizontal stripes. When I saw this multi-directional dress in cream and black, with the wrapped style and button up, I was smitten.

This is often what I look for with stripes. Different directions, some unique twist that makes them stand out.

I love the midi length and could pair this with any color for my accessories, so I added my olive Teddy Blake satchel. Black braided sandals and gold jewelry complete the look.

Happenings

Here we are into April already! There are two birthdays this month, one being my hubby, (54) and my pup Truffles ( 14). I can’t believe it, my little princess is going to be 14! We may have a little doggy party with cake ( for dogs) and some neighborhood furbears. We’ll celebrate hubby at this restaurant that is new to us, Barrel and Fork. His actual birthday is on Easter this year. So off to my brother’s house we go to Mass and then Easter Brunch.

Since I can sit longer periods now, we are seeing the musical, “Into the Woods”, and enjoying dinner beforehand. I love a classic musical, as it has been a while.

Are you a fan of stripes, or do you like “stripes with a twist”?

Love your stripes with a twist! And another Teddy Blake bag, I notice. I have several striped Breton tops, after years of saying I’d never wear them! xx

That’s some beautiful dress, I do love stripes! I’m glad you are doing a bit better. Does the bit warmer weather helps you? This has been the winter of hell for lung patients. All those virus’s. I’m glad when it’s warm enough to go out again.
