THT- Outfit #2 for Our Beach Trip

I like to try and pack at least several mix and match pieces for trips or a small capsule to make packing easier.

MY OUTFIT

Linen is your friend in the summer. It certainly is here in the South! I bought this linen skirt last year, but this skirt is nearly the same. I love the side tie and wrap style. I am bringing this top and also mixing and matching with these white shorts. Black and white is a great combination for trips to pack in regarding to keeping an easy way to put together outfits. Want color? Add it with your accessories! Love these red floral earrings, and the long style would be eye catching as well. These are other options.ย

Black can often be a bit stark against my pale skin, so I will often wear a silk neck scarf, gold jewelry (for warmth), or color withh your earrings or necklace. In this case, I am wearing red earrings, but any color will work as black and white are both neutrals.

I mentioned Clara Sunwoo and this was one of the first tops I selected(was gifted). Being a fan of palm prints, and that it was black and white caught my eye. If you are a lady that doesn’t bare the shoulders or arms, you could always wear a light linen jacket over top, or if it is cooler in the (air conditioning/restaurants) wear a denim jacket or blazer.

This tank from Mango would be very chic with the skirt adding just a touch of white with its trim.

Bringing this outfit on the trip, I will be wearing different shoes, that are cushioned, comfortable, and stylish. I want to be able to walk around all day in the shoes I wear. Beautiful houses and shops to discover in Charleston.

I wore this skirt last year on the blog with THIS POST.

Woven summer bags are the IT bags, and whether they are or not, I just love em. They represent summer to me. This was a gifted by by Eric Javitz, but here are some other great options with a more affordable price tag. OPTION 1, OPTION 2, OPTION 3.

What’s Happening

I’ve mentioned we are off to Charleston and staying at the Isle of Palms, in a house we all pitched in for. Our family is going for a week to celebrate my mom’s 80th birthday! She wonders where time went, and I wonder that myself. There will be a pool at our house, and we are not far from the ocean. So, I am bringing my paddleboard, hubby is bringing his kayak, and there will be a waterway for us to do this. If you know me, I love to boogie board in the ocean, with my goal to be to soar in with the tide nearly reaching the lifeguards statiob! I did it last beach vacation.

So, I we are going the end of this week, so there will be no blog posts the following week. If you want to see some of my vacation, you can follow me on Instagram, where I may be posting to stories and a few posts. I really want to be in the moment.

Are you a black and white fan and do you love to take linen on summer vacations? Let me know in the comments.ย

While we are on “letting me know”, what are you thoughts about continuing link ups? It seems many bloggers have stopped joining in and the focus is on Instagram. I am always trying to think of whether to continue or not.ย

Beautiful summer styles. This skirt set looks elegant and comfortable. I often wear dresses in the summer, especially those made of natural, airy materials like cashmere and linen.

I’m with you all the way Jess; linen is my summer hero and black and white or navy and white all the way for me! Color is my business but I am often very happy to add color very subtly, nails and the right makeup make neutrals work so well! I’m sure you will have a wonderful family celebration and send lots of love to your Mom X

Thank you Pamela! Yes, I have a closet full of linen pieces that I enjoy wearing as it gets mighty hot here in the summer. Appreciate the wishes to my mom!

I have been on the fence about linen. But have seen so many bloggers wearing linen so impeccably that I feel like I must be missing out. But how wrinkled does it get? I have so much ironing to do without any linen in my closet, I am worried about potentially adding more wrinkles to the workload. You look crisp and cool and svelte. I finally put a pair of linen drawstring pants in my Old Navy cart but probably need to try them on.

Hope you will have the grandest time at the beach and celebrating your mama. I know I wonder where the time has gone, too. But then when I think back to when I was a young mom or even in my 40s or 50s, it seems like light years ago.

I just can’t seem to keep up with LIFE and blogging. Both are so time-consuming. And I have so many other things I want and like to do. Not sure what I am doing wrong with my 24 hours each day but I just can’t keep up with the reading, commenting, posting, commenting on comments left for me. You gals amaze me being able to put together multiple posts in a week, and finding time to visit everyone else. Bravo!!

I keep going back and forth about linkups and continuing mine. It’s so much a routine and it’s a bit hard to let go! You look fabulous in this!

I think black and white is always so chic! And, red just seems to be the natural thing to put with it. I envy you going to Charleston. Our oldest granddaughter was born there! As for link ups, it seems the fashion community is woefully absent from them. The Weekend Traffic Jam I host every week has many more baking, DIY, and travel posts as well as what I consider spiritual posts than fashion. I agree Instagram has driven those bloggers there because that’s where retailers are finding their audience. But, I love to write so I’m continuing to blog, and I’ll continue the Traffic jam as long as I have co-hosts. I’m sure they are bringing in more posts than I am.

Have a wonderful trip and thanks for the link up!

Love your outfit, and thanks for the great tips for packing for travel! All things mix and match that come out of the suitcase without a fuss is a definite plus. I hope you don’t decide to discontinue the link up, I enjoy the format of blogs much more than Instagram. But you have to do what is best for you and your business. Thanks for sharing and hope you have a good week.
