How To Style A Higher Waisted Linen Skirt

Hello friends!

You know my love for linen runs deep, even more so over the past few years. I have built up a summer wardrobe, of linen pieces that I can reach for each year. I bought this black wrap linen midi skirt this year, and I know it will be worn often. Plenty of ways to wear this skirt, I styled it today with a knotted deep red crop top from Mango. ( got it on Poshmark for $11) . I love the rich, deep red color, which is the perfect red for my fairer skin.

The key, as I have mentioned before, is to wear a shorter or cropped top, with higher rise garments. I wrote about it in this POST.

If you don’t feel comfortable with that, there are cropped button down shirts, that are more conservative, but will still meet at the waist line. If you prefer to tuck in a top, a thinner graphic tee would be darling for summer, and I’ve spied this one, this one and this one that is summery and fresh.  Another option is a bodysuit. No tucking, and a clean, sleek look with higher waisted garments, like this skirt and jeans.

I will also pair this look with a solid colored tank and slide sandals. Easy summer dressing! I love these and these, and the price can’t be beat!

The other advice I would give is to tuck in your top. This creates a clean line as well.

Well, my mom is here visiting, staying at my brothers, and we have enjoyed being at the pool on these hot days. My brother, who lives in Hoboken, will be coming with his family the beginning of July. I just love all of the activity of the summer months and being able to be outside, eat outside and enjoy the company. We will also be heading to Charleston and the beaches in mid July. Seems like I am making up for some lost time. It is not a far drive for us from Charlotte, however.
