27 Jun THT- Styling a Bodysuit with a Skirt and Other Ways to Style
Hello friends,
Today I am styling a bodysuit with a skirt. Yes, currently, the bodysuit is one hot garment and I am giving you many ways to style it.
Repeat after me, ” I can wear what I want, no matter what age”! (bodysuit included!)
Bodysuits Styled with a Skirt
A bodysuit is nothing more than a form fitting garment that covers the torso and looks like a bathing suit. There is also fasteners that allow you to go to the bathroom. The material is also thinner, and the fabric is typically a stretchy material to conform to your body.
First, you might want to get past the idea that you can’t wear a bodysuit. I am a firm believer in ladies wearing what they want, and what they feel good in. So, if you feel good in one, then yes, do wear it! Don’t automatically rule out that you are such and such an age…
This bodysuit (and I will share more on reels), was gifted to me by an Amazon company called, Pumiey, and they are called The Smoke Cloud collection. Here is a short sleeve version if you would prefer that.
Since I am easily swayed by anything with “cloud” in the name, I wanted to try them. You know what I mean, “cloud-like” insoles, “cloud cushioning.” Well, I will be the testament to saying, these are very soft!
I ordered my usual size small, and I always laugh when I open some of these packages and go, um. What? The fabric, however, is quite stretchy and is good for even a long waisted gal. I wasn’t sure when I first put them on. Now, this company, makes crop tops ( you can wear with a higher rise garment – SEE POST HERE) long sleeve bodysuits, square neckline bodysuits and other styles. For this particular style, the highneck sleeveless bodysuit, there were 15 colors to choose from.
How To Style the Bodysuit
The wonder of the bodysuit is that there is nothing you have to tuck in. Have you seen 101 ways to tuck in your shirt on YouTube? The half-tuck, the French Tuck, the Full tuck. I exaggerate, but with these it is a streamlined look and nothing to tuck in.
Bodysuits are preferably wearable with a bottom that comes to the waist-line or a higher waisted look, this will be the smallest part of your waist.
A bodysuit with a higher-waisted or at the waist skirt looks wonderful, and if it were cooler, you could add that third piece.
I love the look of a bodysuit with higher waisted trousers and a blazer.
Wear it with denim and your favorite pair of fashionable sneakers.
If you aren’t crazy about your arms, that is when the 3rd layer can come in. Pair a bodysuit with a pair of linen trousers and a linen blazer.
You can style it in a more dressy fashion ( higher rise trousers and blazer) or casual, with a pair of straight leg denim.
Denim maxi skirts are trending and “all the rage” right now, they would look great with a bodysuit underneath, some slip on slide sandals and a rattan bag. Adding that 3rd piece could be a gauze white button down for example, over it and tied at the waist.
Wear them with some tailored bermuda shorts and a pair of espadrilles. ( Love these Cole Haan ones on sale!) Again, if you want a topper, or 3rd piece, try a denim jacket or kimono.
If styling with jeans, best to wear a pair of straight or wide leg, flares, bootcuts, probably anything that will be more balanced, besides skinny jeans.
What I am wearing today is a brown high neck sleeveless bodysuit, in Tirimisu, a subtle peach/tan print chiffon skirt, Bruno Magli sandals and my favorite Brahmin bag, adding more texture to the look. I could certainly dress this look down and wear the same bodysuit and skirt, with a crossbody bag and some converse sneakers.
Or, if I wanted to add a 3rd piece, I might add a blazer, especially when going to a restaurant, as they like to really turn up the air conditioning!
Have you ever tried a bodysuit? I’d love to hear from you in the comments!

Posted at 05:36h, 29 JuneI love the warm brown shade of the bodysuit, this colour looks great on you. I have a long torso too so I’ve steered clear of bodysuits since the 90s, when I used to wear them and had a permanent wedgie!
