THT- Styling A New Red Blazer for the Holidays

I have been on the hunt for the elusive red blazer for quite a while. Today I am sharing how I would style it for the Holidays.

Styling My New Red Blazer

As we know, red can be a powerful color. An intense color. I really had intended to wear a full red suit for the Holidays, but pants are still a no-go for this lady, until if/when I get this PN situation sorted. Ah, if only it were that easy! I am up each morning doing relaxation/meditation/diaphragmatic breathing, desperately looking to quiet my nervous system.

Now, where were we. No pants. So, that certainly is an option for you! Nothing says confidence and strikes a fabulous image than that of a red suit. They used to call them “powersuits.” Perhaps you want a bit of slight subtlety and would rather keep it to the blazer. There are plenty of options to keep the dressy vibe going for the Holiday.

You could pair this with a pair of sequined joggers or faux leather trousers. Jeans are another option if you want to keep it a bit more casual. If so, spice it up with dark denim, (maybe a straight style) a black turtleneck, and a shiny bag. I love seeing a gold clutch that would certainly be festive and highlight the golden buttons on the blazer.

I first spotted this slightly fitted double breasted blazer on Mango. I loved the deeper blue-red, not the (orange type) for my skin tone. The cut and of course the gold buttons are a highlight. It has substantial weight, so I snapped it up.  It has recently been restocked in all sizes. Currently, I styled the blazer with a black lace cami, but as it gets chillier, I would swap it for a stylish turtleneck. This Mango red blazer is another sharp option and it is on Sale. This blazer is a bit more orange red, but it has the trousers to go with it.

However,The skirt was meant to be for me! I have worn this skirt throughout the years, and it was finally showing its wear. I had to get rid of it, but I really loved the vintage lace look. What better way to find that treasure, but to look on Poshmark! I found the same skirt, with tags, and scored it for $10! I’ve since bought a few pieces for the Holidays that I’ll be sharing. My advice is, if you loved a garment (to death!) but were sad to part with it, look secondhand. Older styles are easier to find. Ebay too!

I finished off the look with my vintage gold sparkly drop earrings.

If you missed my POST yesterday, I wrote a bit about why we wear red and green, and I put a monochromatic green look together.

Do you plan on wearing red for the Holidays? Do you have a red blazer you enjoy wearing? Let me know in the comments!

Fabulous blazer! I always love gold buttons on a blazer. I have a similar one from Zara in a textured fabric. Finding the skirt for $10 was lucky! Thanks for linking up!

It’s a beautiful color. Red is one of my favorite hues and every time I see it, I am reminded why. So powerful and bold and you wear it so nicely. The gold on the blazer is a nice contrast as well against it. I hope your week is off to a good start and happy Tuesday!

I was just thinking that maybe red is so popular in the winter, because it’s such a bright color. I just adore how you styled this Jess,

I adore red and black together! So dramatic! And I’m with you on that shade of red. Not as fond of the orange reds myself. So glad you were able to replace the black lace skirt. It looks fabulous on you!
