28 Jun THT- Styling Another Linen Dress for Summer
Today I am styling another linen dress for Summer. I told you I was Linen Obsessed!
Neutral Linen Look- The “Safari” look
I’ve always liked “Safari looks” or Utilitarian styles. I have never been on Safari and the closest I’ve come to a Gorilla was at the Pittsburgh Zoo. (Charlotte doesn’t have one!)
Each year, as I mentioned, I do add a few linen pieces to my Summer wardrobe. I find myself reaching over and over for these pieces, and this Summer it is proven necessary! We have hit real feels or 104 and days that are 100. This isn’t exactly the norm in June for Charlotte. Fortunately, there is cotton, linen, the beach and pool to cool us off!
I initially had bought this linen dress from ZARA, only to have not read the small print as I thought the leaves were embroidery. They were beads. Tiny white beads on this structured tan linen shirtdress. I really loved the substantial material and thought the dress was fabulous but after some thought, I realized it was going to be too tough to keep clean. Between sweating and having to dry clean it, I thought it was not the practical choice for me, so I returned it.
See the hundreds of beads?! It pays to read descriptions!
Then I came across this tan linen shirtdress on Mango Outlet for a fraction of the Zara dress. Lo and behold! It is machine washable, so that was the selling point as well. Many linen pieces can be washed in cold and air dried, just not ones with beading, or any special adornment.
You saw this dress styled with similar accessories, and that i what I love about styling some of these classic and simple pieces. This is my other favorite Mango leather woven belt I bought last year. The belt contains of brown, olive, mustard, and rust. Just my favorite shades! My favorite summer clutch adds some fun texture to the look and the olive drop earrings add to the palette. Here is another great linen midi dress on Mango for sale!
and this one too, ( on sale!)
Being that it is a shirtdress, it can also be worn over a pair of denim and tank top as a topper. When you purchase, think of more than one way you could wear it.
Life Lately
First off, can you believe it is almost July?? Where does the time go, and why doesn’t January and February move as fast?
There are a few birthdays in July (mine included) moms and my niece.
I mentioned yesterday that my brother and family came down for the week, and my other brother is 10 minutes away. My sister is in South Charlotte, I am in North. So, the whole family was at the house, in the pool each day! We went boating one day and have been eating on the water at our favorite restaurants. This weekend, I had to recover a bit and was kind of exhausted! We were laughing at the multitude of swans, unicorns and flamingos in the pool taking up 1/3 of it!

Posted at 22:08h, 05 JulyRan over to Etsy to put that belt in my cart. Only 4 left. They are going like hot cakes.
As much as I iron, you’d think I would embrace linen but I have always been gun shy because of the wrinkles. But it
has such a perfect summery vibe. You look fabulous and I love the accessories.
Our pool tends to look like a unicorn and flamingo corral at times, too. So glad you had a good week with all the
family. Hope you give yourself some grace and don’t overdo this week. Indulge in some cat naps or quiet time.

Posted at 00:02h, 30 JuneOh yikes on the dress with the beads! But I can see why you thought it was embroidery from the photo. With the long sleeves you will probably be able to take it into early Fall. Since you mentioned the Safari look, I Krupp thinking how nice it would look with boots also.

Posted at 05:25h, 29 JuneI completely understand why you’re a but mad about linen in the summer. I love wearing it too, especially in August. It’s just teh perfect fabric for the heat. Your dress is gorgeous. I would have sent the other one back too. I would imagine the beads are a bit heavy on linen as well?
