How Accessories Elevate a Linen Look in the Summer

How can accessories elevate a look in the Summer?

Accessories Elevate a Look- Even in Summer!

Accessories can elevate a look any time of year. But let’s look at Summer.

Summer is a season where it can get so hot you aren’t going to style that extra layer, be it a denim jacket, kimono, whatever it may be.

I know I enjoy wearing gold necklaces, or layer them if I choose. If I want something different, I will go with a light silk scarf in the summer. The square silk scarf is a fun way to add that “extra” to your outfit and add pattern or additional color to the look. Here is a similar option

Earrings- I fell for these rattan earrings I saw on a few blogger friends and they too, are light and give off that natural vibe that I love with neutral looks or what used to be called “safari styles.”, or “utility styles.”

In honesty, I love the dress both with and without a belt, so it may be your choice in a fit and flare style, to go without as the top portion of the dress should be more fitted and show a waistline. For added definition and contrast here, I chose this brown textured belt, which added more interest to the look as well. Here is one that is a natural color with a wooden buckle.

The croc textured brown sandals are another textural element. So, if your outfit is neutral, opt for some textural elements (accessories) to elevate the look.

I bought this linen dress on Poshmark for a whopping $14! It is from one of my favorite stores Mango. I’ve really enjoyed more thrifted shopping this year, with a spattering of pieces additionally, on-line. Since this was thrifted, here is one I found where the cut is similar. This one has a different style, but is a lovely linen dress with a similar shape.

Linen used to be my “nemesis” and is now really quite a friend! Especially in the heat of the summer. I will iron once and then, accept it as part of the characteristic of the fabric. I teeter toward romantic looks and tailored looks – and have really enjoyed both This tailored dress really reminds me of a Ralph Lauren style.

On another note, I am trying to make reels now. If you have any savvy tips or want to see what I am up to, follow me HERE.

I am also on LTKI under elegantlydressedandstylish, where I am linking like or similar outfits.

Just got a pedicure and chose the color “Orange Cat Eye”. It really is cool when the sun shines on it. I wanted something bright and this has a metallic look as well. I usually play it safe, and get neutrals or pinks.

What accessories do you wear in the Summer? Have you tried a neck scarf instead of a necklace? I’d love to hear from you in the comments.

Have a wonderful Day,

Jess

Fabulous color for your pedicure. Looks smashing with your outfit. I have always shied away from linen because of the wrinkles but I am seeing linen blends this summer that seem to be almost wrinkle free. Your dress is summertime perfection. I like the color and the texture very much. And what a steal!! Love how the texture in your sandals replicates the texture in the linen. And that bag!! I think it ties everything together.

I love linen but it does wrinkle easy. It’s still a great summer fabric because it’s breathable. Like the bag too, a classic statement purse.

Love your dress and can’t believe that you paid only $14 for it ! And oh, those earrings are just perfect! xo Nipa P.S. You are sounding rather English in this post. I went to British schools throughout my childhood so I still use expressions that make people raise their eyebrows at me!!

Great dress! I love linen for the summer already! I’m in Austin visiting my Son, and it’s so hot and humid! I have a linen blouse that I’ve been wearing a ton. I need to check out Poshmark too!

I’m always hesitant because Linnen crinkles when you sit down. As much as I like the feel and look. Any ideas on what can be done about the crinkling?

What a pretty summer outfit! I love your linen dress and the dual faux pockets along with the buttons are my favorite details. The orange cat eye nail color is also very beautiful. I love the pop of color! I bet it’s striking in person.

Thank you Maureen. I buy a few pieces of linen each year as it can get very hot here in the SUmmer. I loved how the pedi turned out too, it is really pretty in person.
